Cancelling a Trip with Banked Points

I am getting ready to book a Christmas trip with June 2018 points. I currently have an October trip booked with 23 banked 2017 points. There is a good chance we will have to cancel the October trip, but we won't know until March. If we have to cancel, will I be able to call and reallocate the points for the December trip in order to use the banked points?

Are these points all from the same contract? If so, you should be allowed to reallocate without any problems.

Yes, they are. I am hoping to grab an AKV value studio for December and don't want to chance losing it.
