Cancelling a Trip - good time?

We purchased our August trip as a package (Pop resort + Canadian tickets). Sadly, we are going to cancel.

After not getting through at all, I finally got the main number. I'm sure I selected the wrong option....but the wait said 90 minutes. Is that normal? Is there a good time to call? Or a specific line? I just called (407) 939-5277.

The message did say that you can cancel online but I want to ensure both resort and tickets are cancelled correctly. Any tips? Or this is normal with covid stuff?

PS - So depressing...the "hold" music is all the Disney stuff.

If it's coded as a package (resort + tickets on same invoice) you should be able to cancel it online without a problem. I've cancelled 2 packages online this year without an issue.

The lines are probably busy today because 2020 tickets/resorts opened for booking.

EDIT: If it's not super time critical and you really want to call, I'd just wait a few days. The deadline to cancel has been changed to something like 7 days before?

Thanks. I saw the "cancel reservation" link when I sign in to My Plans, but it's strange as the link is both on our arrival date and on check out date. Do you need to cancel both? If I cancel, does the refund automatically go to our credit card? I'm a bit hesitant doing it online.

I happen to be home now and off work for personal reasons, so figured I'd just try now. Our "normal" final payment is July 28th. Didn't know it was extended to 7 days before.

Phone lines are busy today due to 2020 reservations and tickets now available. I'd wait and call in a few days, or do it online.

I just noticed the double posting, MDE is probably displaying things weirdly right now. When I cancelled mine, the refunds had posted within 24-48 hours to the debit cards I used. Just don't be alarmed, they DO NOT send an email for a cancellation.

Thanks. I did get through after 1hr on hold. Once I got through, the call was quick. Good to know there is an explanation for the wait.

And thanks too for mentioning there is no email if a cancellation is done online (well, same thing on the phone).
