Cancelled/Rebooked - Severe Mother Guilt

To Anyone Who Might Be Interested,
I spoke with Meagan (several times actually) over the weekend about scheduling the cruise in February with Erin. She, as I suspected was supportive and encouraged us to go and have a great time. She does not feel left out, slighted or jealous in any way, shape or form. I will be flying out next month for Parent's Weekend and will enjoy some one on one time with her. The three of us will happily sail together in August.
Thanks for letting me fret in a public forum. I appreciate the words - supportive and other wise.
Brack - I will miss being on your cruise. Have a great time.

Dawn Hope

Dawn,
That's great! You know your daughter well! You will have a wonderful time on the cruise - and you will miss Meagan. Your daughters sound like such remarkable people! I'm sure you are so proud of them!

I still say come on the 1/31 Western instead so our daughters can hang out together!

Karyn

Dawn,
You sound like a wonderful mother and should be proud that your kindness and positive attitude had rubbed off on your daughters :D . I hope you all have a wonderful time on your trips!

Karyn,
If I didn't have to pay the DVC change fee I would consider moving to the January 31st sailing. Hmmmmm. Let me think about that one....

Dawn

Dawn,

Yes, you would have the $75 fee - BUT the cruise is much less expensive in points since it's value season thru the end of Jan. I couldn't afford the points for Feb which is why we're taking the last one before the rates go up! So far at our table we have my DD (will have just graduated - this will be a surprise for her) and another couple w/ and 18-yo son! Sound good?

Karyn

Karyn,
I was told that the February 7th cruise was the last sailing offered during Value Season at that time. That's why I choose it - our Use year begins in February (and thus the availabilty of points). When I get my confirmation in the mail I will check and make sure that there was no miscommunication. If for some reason we're spending more points, I will definitely switch over!

Thanks,
Dawn

Dawn, you want to do it even if it is the same price! !/31 was the last Western - sorry, didn't check pricing on the Eastern.

Karyn

Dawn, it sounds like you've raised some wonderful daughters. :)

Enjoy your cruises! :sunny:

Karyn,
We sailed the Western itinerary this past January and have never sailed the Eastern. Have you done both? And do you have a greater preference for the Western? I do love Key West.

Michelle,
Thanks for the kind words and well wishes.

Dawn

*clears throat* How do we know the character traits didn't come from Meagan's father... lol.

LOL Dad, but didn't you know that a child's good traits come from the mother, and anything that is annoying or bad come from the dad? At least that is how it is in this house, LOL.

BD, BD, BD, (shaking head, sighing heavily),
Meagan's Dad never spent more than noon on Saturday until 6 pm on Sunday every other weekend for most of her growing up years (we were divorced when my girls were 2 and 3).Quality time when the time spent together is anything but quality cannot hold a candle to quantity time - all of those nights sitting up with a sick child, mending broken hearts, attending a legion of elementary school/middle school/high school musicals, parent teacher nights etc... and so on. So, I will modestly accept quiet praise for a job well done. As I am certain that you enjoy the same rewards for your efforts.

Hey Dawn.

THAT quantity time IS quality time. As you know, I can certainly relate.

For the first several + years, "Buckaroo's" mom only had even shorter, supervised visitations. Not a fun time to dwell on.

I thought modesty was reserved for corrupt politicians and overpaid stock exchange chairmen...

By the way, Dawn, I posted this because one of the moderators took my previous post seriously and, consequently, sent me a pm. Oh well...

BD,
Not to worry. I knew immediately the tone and temperment of your post. I believe that we are of like mind when it comes to our offspring and opinions of (deadbeat) former spouses. I welcome any comment you take the time to send my way.

Take Care,
Dawn

Good morning Dawn.

I welcome any comment you take the time to send my way.

With lines like that, it's a good thing I have a clean mind... lol.

How far is your "office" from the Radisson? Do you offer therapeutic massages at on-site locations like the Radisson? Perhaps other Disers would be interested in starting their cruise in a relaxed state of body and mind...

BD,
Thanks for the inquiry. My "office" is within a Spa called The Imperial in Melbourne - 20 to 30 minutes from the Port. I am currently negotiating for part time access to office space in Cocoa Beach on Fridays. When that becomes available I would love to share that info and offer a "dis"counted rate on therapeutic massage services to the "Dis" family.

Enjoy,
Dawn Hope
