Will be arriving at the world late on the 26th... can't wait, 1st trip back since 2009. I was planning to have the quick service dining plan but have decided to cancel. The four times i have had the dining plan it was with free dining and we got 1QS, 1 TS and a snack plan. It will be myself, my daughter (she will be turning 16 on this trip) and her BFF. After calculating out the cost, I just don't think at least for my daughter and I, that I would spend $82 a day on food for the 2 of us. Except for one character meal, we will be eating quick service. It seems to it is hard to get the value out of this plan.

I'm confused. If you are planning on eating mostly quick service food, it would seem the quick service plan would be a great choice. Have you tried something like this:

This lets you plug in your meals and tells you if the dining plan would be a good choice.

The quick service is typically a "break even" plan. I think the quick service plan is better for those who prefer the convenience of pre-paying for their meals regardless if that equals getting the most bang for your buck. Enjoy your trip!

I think OP is saying the cost of the quick service dining plan is more expensive than what her and her daughter would spend by ordering what they want and paying oop. The QS dining plan includes desserts with both meals plus a snack for each night, in addition to the meals. That is usually more than most people eat during a typical day. The QS plan makes sense for some families but not everyone.:)

Completely agree. Was on QSDP for 12 days. Kept track of every penny to see how it panned out. We tried hard to get the most value out of every meal. We broke even (within $2) but if we went by our eating style we lost money. We don't eat dessert at our meals, especially not the kind offered at most QS. We'd rather a snack later. We also don't order drinks but prefer ice water. We rarely use our refillable mug because we don't hang around the food court or pools much, maybe once or twice per trip. In the end if we ate the same number of meals and snacks on our own style we would have spent less money. But my biggest issue was after 5 days I was sick of QS. So for me if I can't get the DDP, then I will go OOP.

And since we have TIW and can use at food courts and QS at AK, that was a further loss to us.

The link I added lets you plug in your meals and lets you know if the plan will save you money or not. If the OP plans on eating most counter service, I thought it might come in handy.

I don't think I agree it is more food than most people eat. I know many who use the snack credit to cover breakfast. And we often get portable desserts like brownies and have them latter on.

That link is very helpful! Although my husband and I plan to do mostly QS, the QS dining plan won't save us money according to the info I put in. We figured up on our own that the dining plan would cost us more, and I'm glad to see that verified through that link.
