Has anyone had an excursion cancelled due to weather? I at first got the impression the weather had to be life threatening to have a beach excursion cancelled, but after reading the paper about prebooking them I got the impression a heavy, all day downpour would be reason for a cancelled beach excursion. Has anyone experienced a drenching day at Blue Lagoon or other beach? Pls share your experience with us.

We booked Golden Eagle Catamaran tour in St. Martin and as we were gathering to leave the ship the CM said that because of rough seas they would not be able to take us to planned site for snorkeling. She said this is a once in a lifetime deal that if you want to cancel right now you can, with no penalty. We didn't cancel and they took us to another beach which was not very fun at all and had poor snorkling. In hindsight if Disney makes an offer that you can cancel, I'll get the hint and take advantage of it.

Our excursion wasn't cancelled but did have to go to another beach. We did the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St Maarten. They was a storna and high winds the night before so the snorkeling was not good at all at the original destination. People were given the option of getting a refund for the excursion because the destination beach was changed and the snorkeling situation.

We went and had fun anyway.

I don't see how an excursion involving a beach could go on in the middle of a downpour but a lot of the storms they have are over within 30 minutes or so.

Hi SC Minnie --
We were on the same Golden Eagle in January! We're the ones from NC

I remember you! Are you guys taking advantage of the $99 voucher? We are sailing Oct 17th. There are several of the original Jan 19th DISers on the same cruise.

I was booked on the 5-Star Trunk Bay excursion in Feb. We couldn't go there because the waves were very high. We were offered a refund or the chance to go to a different beach on a different island. I chose to still go, and had a nice time. Not as pretty as Trunk Bay, but it was relaxing.
