Hi
i understand that ABC Primetime did a special on Dolphin Encounter.
and that it was pretty disturbing to say the least(have not seen it).

and that people( on this board) feel this may be the reason for DCL dropping the BL beach and dolphin excursion.

If this is the case why haven't they cancelled all of the dolphin encounter? and why re-book another dolphin encounter in Nassua?

I understnad that the program is general( in terms of dolphin in captivity) and not specifically about BL dolphin encounter........ so disney only cancelling this one doesn't make sense to me.

I understood ( from BL website) that all the dolphin at BL are rasied in captivity( likewise as discoverycove and seaworld).

I am not saying i'm in favour of doing the swim but can't understnad Disney decsion on only cancelling one?

Hi, i have posted the above on the DCL thread but wondered the impact on discovery cove. My son and I did the swim at DC last year and really enjoyed it but am now wondering about doing ANY dolphin encounters again.
how do people feel about it?
thanks

Maybe (don't know...speculating) DCL cancelled the Encounter because they found out something immoral or illegal going on with that vendor. But its encounter in the US has to live up to US Laws so show goes on?

I personally wouldn't do one in our out of the US as I don't agree with keeping these animals captive (although in the us they are bred in captivity). If in a place where I want to view dolphins, I'd try and sign up for an excursion to see them in the wild so as not to interfere with their habitat and life cycle and familial ties.
