Cancelled Comfort Suites, questions on Homewood Suites or Hawthorne

Well, I needed 1 more night, which I was going to add to Comfort suites Maingate. I had it booked really cheap, about $45 a night. So, I was debating between there or cancelling and doing the whole 6 nights at Comfort Suites Maingate East. Also very reasonable, less than $350 for 6 nights. I go into tripadvisor to read more reviews and suddenly all those good reviews have gone bad. People are seeing cockroaches and bedbugs, so I cancelled.
Now, do I want to go with CIME, good price, reviews are still good except for mosquitoes at the pool and thin walls-noisy. Or, I can book Hawthorne Suites or Homewood Suites, both for $69.95 a night. I'm leaning towards Homewood, only because they have a game room. Hawthorne had 3 queens and Homewood has 2 queens and 1 full. Would like the 3 queens, as my teens will probably sleep in the seperate bedroom which has the two queens and we'll get stuck with the full.
Does Hawthorne have a game room not listed? Right!
Which is a better location, both on Palm Parkway?
Or should I just go with CIME?
I haven't even told my husband. He'd be going nuts to think I don't even have a place booked!

Hi Linda!

I have looked up a few reviews on TripAdvisor for various hotels and Comfort Suites Maingate East has had overall the most positive reviews of any place I have checked. I do find the reviews frustrating however. It seems most places have an equal number of good and bad reviews which makes it very difficult to know what you are getting yourself into.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the good prices on Homewood & Hawthorne Suites?

The only negative I found about Comfort Suites East was all the mosquitoes at the pools and the thin walls; also slow elevators. Of course, I originally booked in March with a great rate and this is what my husband thinks I'm paying. That's why I think maybe I should just go with East which isn't much more. Hawthorne and Homewood both have better breakfasts, and seem larger. I think it would end up costing me about $150 more which isn't awful, but certainly a great meal out!
For Hawthorne, Hotel Kingdom at the best rates for $69. For Homewood Suites, I had received an email, I think because I had signed up with Orlando discounts awhile ago. Here is the email address:

Linda L,
When are you planning on visiting Disney? My DH and I are going the 2nd week in September, and have Homewood Suites booked for $418 (including taxes) for 7 nights. The rate was $54 a night. This is a considerable lesser price than your quote of $69 a night. Maybe it is the time frame and that's why.

I'm going August 20. Is this the same Homewood Suites on Palm Parkway? I thought $69 was the best price out there. If it's the same, who did you book through. I wouldn't hesitate for that price.
Thanks

Linda L,

I booked through AAA. I have the AAA Stay & Save Rate. Like I said before, it might be cheaper for me since we are going 9/14-9/21.
Good luck trying to get a better rate!! :hyper:

Sorry to ask again, but I'm a AAA member, and I looked on their site, but it didn't help. Did you call and book directly through them? The reason I asked about location is because in your other thread asking about Homewood suites, you got a reply referring to the Homewood Suites, 3100 Parkway Boulevard
Kissimmee, Florida 34747.
This is not the one I want to stay in. I'm looking for the one on 8200 Palm Parkway, Orlando, FL 32836.
There is a big difference in price between these two properties.
Thanks again. I would really like to decide and book today.
Thanks again,
Linda

You are right. I am booked at the 3100 address. Sorry for any inconvience this may have caused you. Once again, good luck in making your ressie!

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm still determined to make a decision today. Comfort Suites Maingate East: total: $348, Homewood Suites or Hawthorne Suites, total: $420 plus tax.

I've stayed at that Homewood on Palm Parkway. It was a quick one nighter before our WDW onsite nights began.

It was fine. I had no problems.

Linda,
I hope you were able to make a good decision. Those ressies are tricky! :Pinkbounc

Cindy,
Thanks for your input! We both appreciate your info!

Thanks!!!

:sunny:
