So I decided to cancel my reservation at the Caribbean Beach and stay at the Swan. When I called to cancel, the CM asked how I paid. I could not remember, but I thought it was by check. She then told me that it would take 6-8 weeks for a refund check to be sent to me. I asked her why we have 2 weeks to get a payment to Disney, but it takes Disney 8 weeks to send a payment to us? She could not answer this and just reiterated the 6-8 week timeframe. Just thought I'd let you know in case you run into the same problem.
 
I doubt it will actually take that long.

We have had to cancel reservations before and I don't think it took more than 2 weeks to get the check.
 
I agree with floridafam. We had to cancel once and the refund was within two weeks! I was surprised too!
 
Maybe they say that to scare people from cancelling!

I'm sure it doesn't take that long ~ thats just a "window" they use so people aren't expecting it within days and calling about it.

It's been 3-4 yrs. since we cancelled, but we definitely got the check in 2 weeks, even though we were told 6. Good luck!
 
Last September we had to cancel a reservation and rebook due to a code rate. We were told it would take up to 6 weeks to receive the difference and the check was in our mailbox in just over a week.
