Hello again...

Whereas I am happy with my purchase of SSR my father who also purchased into SSR NOW is having second thoughts. He is now thinking of buying a condo instead.
It is beyond the 15 day cancellation period. I dont need another 250 points otherwise I would buy them from him. Is there anyway of him getting out of the contract even though closing isn't until May 2004? Anyone have a clue as to what happens?
Would DVC take them back?

Thanks again in advance for the responces,
Michael

The only thing you can do is call DVC and see what they have to say. Legally, I think the sale is binding. However, they may work with you.

I think it is 30 days not 15.
or at least so I recall from the tour we took in September.
Just call your guide and ask.

My dad thought the guide told us 45 days but I don't recall hearing that.I told him even though the guide might have said 45 days the agreement he signed say 15 days..

By Florida law there is a 15 day period during which you can back-out of the purchase agreement. According to our Guide when we purchased, DVC actually allows 30 days, regardless of what the paperwork might state.

Call DVC and see what they are willing to do.

It is also 15 days from the date that you put on the paperwork when you sign it. Therefore, the true window for cancellation is typically much longer than 15 days.

Thank you everyone for the replies.

My dad signed up when he was down at Disney in early Oct.. I told dad to call today and find out what can be done...I will keep you posted as to the outcome.

Update... Regardless of what your guide tells you you have 15 days from the date you sign the contract to cancell and be free and clear. After the 15 days Disney can and will charge a 10% fee to break the contract. They said I can always sell it but when I asked how can I sell something I dont have a deed to and wont have until after closing in May and the rep did not have an answer.

With a presell, the rules are different. I don't think the clock starts ticking with a presell unitl sometime much later. You may want to call back and talk with a supervisor.
