If this situation has happened to any of you, how was it handled??

ADR for party of 6, but only a party of 5 is able to go....is there a penalty for the one person who is a no show?

I don't know whether to cancel the ADR that we have and rebook with one less person. Lunch times now are very late afternoon. Breakfast times are non existent. :scared1:

We have the same situation. We have booked for a party of six (our family of 4 plus gram and pop). Gram and Pop have since informed us they will join us for most reservations but likely not all and will play it by ear day to day:scared1:. We are booked for 6 at CRT, MBYBBQ, Akershus and California Grill.

I don't know the answer to your question, but hopefully someone does!

From what I've heard, you will be charged the "no show" fee for each member of the party that does not show up. This applies to all CC held (and pre-paid) locations.

However, take that with a grain of salt, as I'm am giving 3rd party information and have no experience first hand.

Only those locations will charge you a fee. If you didn't have to list a credit card number, then there is no fee.

Don't cancel and ADR before you are sure you can make one for the smaller party size. You may not be able to! Call and see if they can adjust your ADR to fit your new size. Sometimes they are able to do that. Good luck!

Give them the dates and time of all the ADR's that there will be a no show fee and tell them you will be charged if they don't show up. My guess is they will make sure they are at those ones. Nobody likes wasting money even if it isn't theirs.

I can tell you how it works with CRT, and guess that it may be the same at Akershus.

I was able to call in advance and remove a person from the reservation at CRT, and have my pre-payment refunded. I did not have to cancel and attempt to re-book the reservation as I would with an "ordinary" ADR.

This is speculation - because there is a financial guarantee involved, there is a bit more flexibility in terms of changing the numbers of diners, as long as the arrangements are done before the cancellation limit.

But I agree with squirrel - make it clear that there are some reservations for which winging it at the last minute isn't going to fly. If it comes to it, I would just tell them "sorry, but we'll have to take you off the reservation if we can't be sure you intend to be there. That's too much money to gamble with."

Once retrieved, a reservation may be canceled by clicking the Cancel button for that reservation. To modify a reservation, please call (407) 939-5665. :confused3

I've pasted this from what shows when attempting to retrieving an ADR. I'm going to give it a try and see where the number takes me and what the person on the other end has to say.

Just finished the call and happy to report that the party size was changed from 6 to 5 without any hassel at all!! At first the prompts for this number were exactly like the 407-wdw-dine number, so not sure why the strange number, but the CM was most helpful.
