cancellation policy for autotrain

Does anyone know the cancellation policy for autotrain? penalty ?
Does it make a difference if I were to book by phone?

Did you check Amtrak's website? I would think the information would be there, or can you call them? JMO, but I'd think the refund policy would be the same no matter how you book (or cancel).
 
We've taken the auto train 4 times. Each time we ordered it over the phone, but did NOT have them mail it out to us. As long as you don't have the tickets mailed out to you, they are 100% refundable until a day before you are scheduled to leave.
We just pick up the tickets when we're driving into the station as we are leaving.
 
I had to cancel the autotrain last January at the last minute because of an emergency. They gave me a full refund for everything except the roomettes I reserved. But they gave me credit for them. I am using that credit next month.
