Cancellation policy? Adding/deleting days from a reservation...

I know a ballpark for when I want to go in October, but we fly Southwest and on certain days I can get a $99 fare. So, of course, I want to fly on those days. But, I won't know when until July. Can I book POFQ now and alter the reservation later? Is there a fee attached? Thanks!!!

If you make a room only reservation you just pay a one nights deposit and have up until 5 days out to cancel without penalty. I made my reservation last year before I purchased plane tickets and then just called to cancel the last day off after I had my tickets.

Would you 'overbook' and cancel what you don't need or assume what you will need and hope to add on later?

I would overbook and then when your plans firm up, call and release the days that you don't need.

A very nice cm at the wdtc suggested if you wish to cancel, he said it was better to cancel 6 days prior.
