Canceling?

Forgive me for asking what may be, for most of you guys, a dumb question, but I'm at the office, away from all my DVC stuff, and I'm new at this...

Anyway...my wife MAY have to undergo surgery for fibroids in the next several days -- she's undergoing a series of tests this week -- and I'm wondering what the policy is on canceling a DVC booking.

We're slated to go to the BCV for two and a half weeks July 6.

How late can we cancel without some sort of penalty? (I'm hoping, if we do have to cancel, we can rebook for the fall. But, understandably, things are very much up in the air right now.)

Any thoughts? Ideas? Wisdom? Prayers?

No penalty if you cancel 31 days prior to arrival, June 5th in this case. IF you cancel 30 days - 1 day ahead all points go into a holding account. Holding account points can be used to reserve DVC accomodations, Disney Collection, Concierge Collection, Adventurer Collection and World Passport Collection within 60 days of the new arrival date but before the end of your Use Year. Holding Account points cannot be banked or borrowed and expire at the end of your current Use Year. Best wishes to your wife. Hopefully all the tests will be fine and you can take your vacation as planned. If not, at least you do have options.
