Canceling/changing a hotel reservation and ADR

Someone in our group wants to change their hotel reservation. But we just made dining reservations with it, many fall into the 60+10 category but not inside the 60 day mark yet. Can we cancel/change this hotel room without affecting our ADR’s? Or should we wait to make changes until all our reservations are within the 60 day window?

Thanks for any and all help!

You don’t have to worry. The resort reservation opens up the 60+10 window but isn’t actually linked to the ADRs. You can change the resort reservations without affecting the ADRs.

I just read your post on the main Restaurants board and was confused at first - finally realized you’re the person whose DVC reservation was canceled by the CM and you were put on the waitlist! Best wishes that everything turns out well on that front!

Yea sorry for the confusion. Been hectic lol. That Disney error was remedied thankfully, but not by Disney. I got lucky and the room became available again and I was lucky enough to see and grab them (well tbh I was stalking the inventory 24/7 so luck probably had nothing to do with it). I was able to grab them before even the waitlist that I was "on top of" had a chance to snag them. I'm still waiting on the supervisor to call back though. The thread got long but the updates are buried in there somewhere I think.

But yea some people in our group started rethinking their plans (whether coincidence or not) right after this happened and have been wanting changes, prompting this dining ADR question. The plight of a Disney planner I guess.

I had called Disney with this question and was told that if it is within the 60+10, adr are at risk and to cancel/change within the 60 to be safe.

Good to know. I decided against making any adjustments just yet after reading this, since we don't need the points back immediately (DVC). They'll just have to deal with whatever availability is left in a week. Thank you!
