Should we be strolling through World Showcase and find that there is an unexpected opening at some restaurant we happen to be craving, is there a way to cancel our other ADR (you know, the one made 180 days in advance;) ) other than calling Disney Dining from our cell phone? Can the hostess at the new restaurant get onto the computer and cancel the ADR for us? I should really know this, but I don't...We usually just pull out the cell phone and dial 407-WDW-DINE and hit all the correct prompts...

Hi Belle!

Yes, the restaurants in the WS can cancel other reservations using their computer. Once, a couple of CMs in France insisted they couldn't as I assured them they could. I pleasantly asked for a manager to help and they suddenly discovered how to do it.;)

Thanks BCV23! BTW, I know you MUST have a "quick trip" in the works some time soon...when is it? We are meeting several relatives from around the country in "the world" for my mom's 70th birthday which is in mid-September.

We actually just got back on Friday. We won't be back until October.

Have fun on your Mom's birthday trip! Are you going the Grand Gathering route?

You can also always go to guest relations or the dining window (like in the Studios near the tip board) in the park, and they can cancel them for you. Maybe not so convenient if you're not near the front of the park, but if you know at the beginning of the day that you want to cancel some, it works.

We are part of a GG, but that really doesn't mean much unless you partake of the events offered with a GG. We will not be participating in any of those. I do think we will have a great time, though!

I hope you had a great trip and were able to spend some time with your son! Did you have some nice meals? You need to post about them if you did (and if you didn't)!

I haven't read much about GGs lately but remember in the early days, many people were having trouble with the program. Will they help get rooms together, etc..? I'm sure you will have a fantastic celebration.

Thanks. We were able to enjoy quite a bit of time with our son and his wife despite their busy schedules.

We had so many good meals...California Grill, Jiko, YSH, Brown Derby, Tutto, Narcoossee's, GF Cafe, Kona Cafe for all three meals. I probably won't do reviews though. We don't take pictures and that's the current thing on the review forum. And my reviews were never of the quality of Uncleromulus for instance. But thanks for asking.

It must not have been a quick trip this time if you had time for all those dinners!! Wow!

Few written reviews are the quality of Uncleromulus', but you must admit--those photo reviews are a lot of fun! A picture is worth a thousand words... What the photos can't tell you are those little things that make a dining experience so great or so terrible. For example, the photos of my steak at Tutto in December looked great! BUT, the taste was terrible and the service even worse! I am guessing your (second?) experience at Tutto was much better than mine! I think even simple reviews with an opinion on service and over-all quality are helpful. It helps us obsessive readers keep track of general trends. Just rambling...

Anyway, glad you were able to get some visiting in with your son and DIL!:)

Oh, I love the pictures too although I actually don't read that forum as much these days anyway for some reason.

I agree that pictures show but one part of the experience. I'm sad to hear you didn't enjoy Tutto. This was actually our 4th dinner there and each time everyone has been happy. It's on my DHs mustdo list. And the service is one reason. We've had great service there in contrast to Alfredo's (although we stopped going there quite a few years ago). I'm so sorry to hear your experience was so different.

Yep, we were there 9 nights. Brown Derby was actually lunch as was GF Cafe (twice). We also had dinner and breakfast at Captain's Grill, lunch at B&C...I think there were others but I'm drawing a blank right now!
