Canceling Air Tran Flight Question...

I have to cancel my trip to Fl, come this Dec. I noticed that Air Tran changed the times on my return flight..I'm wondering if since they changed the time if they would cancel the flight without the charge.. Some things have come up financially and just can't do it. Thanks for the help.

and by change, I mean just a few minutes, nothing major..if not what happens to my ticket if I cannot follow through? what are my options..going later is not.

You can try and call to see if with the minimal time change they will allow you to cancel with no service charge.
If the time change is that small they certainly have the right to access the $75 per person fee.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel a reservation, please call AirTran Airways Reservations at 800-AIR-TRAN or 678-254-7999 in Atlanta. Reservations must be cancelled at least one hour prior to departure, and there is a $75 fee per passenger to cancel a reservation. The remaining balance will be placed in a credit file, which may be used for future bookings for up to one year from the date of the original booking. Failure to cancel reservations one hour prior to departure will result in the forfeiture of airfare.

So even if you cancel a reservation..if they allow it without the service fee..it would only be a credit and not a refund to your CC?

My Air Tran flight was cancelled, meaning the nonstop flight was replaced with a stop with a layover. In that case, I was able to get a full refund. I did not book through AirTran direct, but that is who I called to get my tickets refunded. I don't know that you would get a refund if the time changed, as opposed to the flight being dropped from their schedule.

I noticed our return flight disappeared. We are not traveling until Dec. I called Airtran and the flight they assigned us, will not work for our family. They had not contacted us. These boards are so helpful with tips. The strange part is, that flight will be available everyday of the week but Tuesday and Wednesdays. It makes us nervous to change our travel date. Airtran could cancel the flight again.

I am looking at flights from other airlines. Will they credit the CC for both the flight down and the return flight?
