Can I make a resort reservation, do 180+10 ADR's, wait a day, and then cancel my resort reservation and not lose my ADR's? Or will some or all of the ADR's disappear? What happens to the ADR's if I cancel my room after more than 11 or so days after making the ADR's?

As far as I know you don't need a resort reservation in order to make ADR's. I just made all of our ADR's for October and don't have a resort reservation yet. Your ADR's are seperate from your resort reservations, so there won't be an issue.

Can you? Yes. The ADR system and resort reservation system are not tied together beyond the +10 and DDP checks at the time you make the ADRs. It is a bit sketchy to do it the day after though :p, may want to wait at least a week.

For the 180+10 perk of staying on-site, you do need a confirmed resort reservation. This allows you to make up to 10 days worth of ADRs up to 180 days from date of check-in. Otherwise, you may only make ADRs up to 180 days from date of dining.

Thanks for the info.

So sorry for the misinformation! I had no idea it was different for the +10 ADR's.

can you do it - yeah
should you - no way
it is a perk for staying on site if you aren't then you shouldn't use the perk & you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking about it

It was just a curiosity. And I think telling someone they be ashamed for something as benign as this is a bit of a stretch and i find it quite offensive. What if I and my wife each made an ADR for the same night at different restaurants knowing we will use only 1 but cancel the other one with little notice? Where does that rank?

Just as bad.

the OP asked how to cheat the system - cheating is something to be ashamed of
I also think people who cut in line should be ashamed of themselves too

making 2 ADRs when you know others would want them is unfair & cheating too - guess that is why Disney has the credit card tied to them now so at least they do get something if you don't show up for them or cancel with enough notice.
I do quick service DDP & only make 2 ADRs for my whole trip so you aren't cheating me but it is still isn't nice

how would you feel if you paid for perks then find out others are getting the same perks without paying for them??

Wow. You win. I am a bad immoral person who probably should not be allowed in Disneyworld
