Hi everyone! I asked this question on Chat and the rep told me I’d have to cancel it all and rebook it, but to call and see if Member Services can help. But, I keep getting the busy signal. So I’m asking here to see if I should even bother.

I have 4 nights booked at VGC over memorial weekend in a studio (hence the I’m not cancelling it all and rebooking). The Points are taken as follows-
64 2019 banked
14 2020 current (bank date 4/30)
10 2021 borrowed

I want to cancel the Friday night, keeping 3 nights booked using exactly the 64 banked points as the ones in reservation, releasing the current and borrowed points. Chat said the borrowed ones stay first, which I understand if the rest was current points, but is there a way to do this to choose to use those 2019 points?

ugh. Typing this out.... I probably need to call!

There is a way for points to be used and it will always used borrowed and banked points before current UY.

Normally, it is borrowed first. Since you have more points than needed in both banked and borrowed, there may be a way for them to return borrowed vs banked but you’d have to call. Normally it doesn’t matter since both are restricted

I know for sure they will use those before current UY points and the only way to really free them up is to cancel completely.

But, you may get lucky to have some override it to use only banked.

Thank you, so much, for posting about the borrowed points being returned. I just cancelled a BWV reservation for 150 points, thinking they were made w current year points, only to discover they were a combination of banked and a few borrowed. Was not looking forward to sitting on hold, to make sure the borrowed points were still being returned. Still a bit sorry I didn't have a bunch of points to bank.
