Ok, hear me out (yes this post is more comical in possibility but we once dreamed of a Disney cruise ship coming down under and although it didn't last long, it did happen)
Canberra is home to a water park called BIG SPLASH. It has been around for decades and it is used primarily during the summer. It has waterslides, a small kids area, a 50m pool and grassed areas. Schools use it for swimming carnivals, excursions etc. Public groups also use the facilities. Canberra loves Big Splash.
Currently though, it was sold to new owners and the new owners have not opened the water park for the past 2 summers. Yes it is in need of repair, however because the current owners have not met their obligations, the ACT Government is looking at taking back control of the sight.
What if Disney became interested in the site and opened their first park in Australia - a water park?!
I know what the newspapers are saying about Disney withdrawing from Australia and how we all thought that maybe there was a park going to Victoria BUT I know Disney read these posts and may not know about the location in Canberra. People travel from all over to Jamberoo (waterpark in NSW) so you could also assume that they would travel here too, especially for the Disney factor.
Please no Canberra is boring responses - I'm just having a bit of fun and thinking outside the box to save the site.
