Can we pay the annual dues with a Canadian credit card?

We just closed this week and I have the paperwork from the closing company but not the official paperwork from Disney. What I have says "The monthly payment option is only available on a direct debit basis from a U.S bank account". I've read in the boards that they can be paid by credit card but I'm not sure if this is an option with a Canadian credit card? :confused3

Thanks,
Lisa

Yes, you can pay all your dues at once by using a Canadian credit card. You just can't do monthly withdrawals.

Welcome Home!

We put it on our Amex, which gives us extra points for travel purchases. For whatever reason, the DVC seems to qualify as travel.
Just as well, since we need all the help we can get to pay for airfare!

Where did you buy? We own at BLT, and so far have stayed only there and at AKL Jambo and Kidani as well -- love them all.

As the pp's mentioned, yes you can use a Canadian credit card. Disney makes it so easy to pay your dues too. If you go on the dvc member website and click on dues, it will tell you what you owe and how you'd like to pay, you can pay right there online. :thumbsup2

Our DVC is Saratoga Springs. We are very excited to take our first trip driving and staying a couple days at Hilton Head and Vero Beach... and of course a Disney World resort too. We have a travel points visa so we can pay our dues and get some travel points at the same time.

When is your trip? We are going in January. We always drive down (no kids), staying at SSR/BWV for 12 nights, then Vero for 3 nights then Hilton Head for 4 nights! :cool1:

DisneyFreak - we are hoping to be there the first week of January.

Called Member Services today and she could "see" us but Admin isn't done yet so she couldn't confirm our member number or make any reservations yet. She said it should be completed by tomorrow :woohoo:.

Anyone know how long the drive is from;
Hilton Head to WDW
Hilton Head to Vero Beach
Vero Beach to WDW

Vero Beach to WDW is about two hours.

We loved Vero -- I forgot we stayed there! :confused3 The beach is amazing, though some folks complain about the steep drop in the sand (due to storm erosion). There was also a very strong riptide when we were there.

The pool and slide are tons of fun. There is no shortage of things to do. We held the family Olympics: water slide races, table tennis, shuffleboard, minigolf, hard court tennis, and racing on the beach. The resort has a nice casual vibe -- Disney service, without being over the top.

DD especially loved the campfires, which were held a couple of alternating nights on our stay. We ate at the resort once or twice (we just had an inn room, and were very happy with it). Otherwise we tried pizza, picked up some fried chicken and salads from Publix, and ate at SquidLips.

Since we're planning to do the exact same trip only in reverse  we estimate 2hrs from WDW to Vero, 6hrs from Vero to Hilton Head. Hilton Head to WDW is 5 hrs.

Have a great time! :yay:

SO excited to go to Vero with all the positive feedback :cool1:.

Called Member Services today and nothing available at WDW Jan 5, 6, 7 (marathon) so it looks like we will do HH, what ever we can get at WDW, Vero and a quick stop at HH to break up the drive home... just moving the Vero stay to after WDW rather than before.

Just waiting for work to confirm vacation time off approved and my points to be allocated to my DVC then we will book - whoop, whoop.

Just want to add - you can do monthly bank withdrawals. We've been doing it for years. RBC has a US based branch (not to be confused with a US funds account - and RBC employees can be confused about the two - so if you get a no - US based does exist - used to be called RBC Centura). They are in the process of transferring the business over to another company - but everything will stay the same. I'm not sure where they are at with that right now.

It has made my DVC so much more relaxing. I hardly even think about the maintenance anymore. Monthly withdrawals seem like nothing compared to a January lump sum
