Hello everyone, first post! We've been to WDW twice, Mar 2014 & 2015. We didn't go this year as the $ really sucked. With my wife and I both working at a school, she's a teacher and I'm a bus driver, we're limited as to when we can go. I noticed this past winter on the WDW site that one of the specials was for Canadians only, it looked like it included a stay offsite but you had to call to get more details. I was just wondering if anyone took this special and what it included. We are saving now for a return in Mar 2017 and I'm playing around with things to cut costs as our boys are now 10 and 12, which puts them in the higher price category. I was just wondering what the special was in case it was offered again next year.

First off let me welcome you to the boards!

To answer your question, the general consensus on this board was that the "Special" really wasn't a great deal ... off-site, which takes away so many of the perks that on-site guests are able to use (Bus to an from MCO is huge as far as i'm concerned) and if I remember correctly, it really wasn't much of a bargain. Take some time to poke around the resorts boards and check out the deals that are offered, crunch some numbers and feel free to ask lots of questions! we love to help each other out

Correct, it was no deal at all. You could easily find lower cost offsite accommodation...better accommodation.

If you want onsite resorts the best deal you'll find is booking VIA Ebates/Orbitz. There are several threads on the resort discount board that details doing this. I've now booked that way three times and my savings has been in the ballpark of $500 each trip.
