Canadians are getting pin codes!

We just started looking into a March break on this Sunday just past. For the first time in about 1.25 years, I logged back into my Disney World profile. By Thursday I had a Disney card with a PIN code for hotel savings or free dining option. Coincidence, I think not!

We are going though! :woohoo: Staying offsite for a week and then chilling at the Disney Yacht club for a couple.

54 more days!!

Nice. Loved YC. Love the pool. LOVED the ice cream.

We used the 35% discount on an AoA Nemo room for August, but DW started looking again at Poly which of course throws a wrench into things since it took forever to talk overselves into a 'value' to begin with. Still need air but SW doesn't open the next window until Feb 4th.

YUUUPPPPP! I got it too and it is the first time EVER! We have been going to the World and Cali for over 10 years, I sign up for surveys, get the planning dvd, have bought mnsshp and mvmcp tix etc and NEVER gotten one until now! I was thrilled to get it and my DH thought I was insane. Not sure if we are going to be able to use it though, still trying to decide when to go

I am looking at planning a WDW vacation for early December 2013. I am fairly new to this so I am wondering what these PINs are about and how do you get them? Seems like a great way to save a bit on a vacation! :)

I got this plus a free dining pin on Jan 8, day before I was leaving for WDW, so I called -spent ages on the phone (I mean agesss) and they tried both. I had booked on the winter promo. Neither changed my pricing one bit and in fact, my resort showed zero availability anyways for my dates.

Sometimes these are a savings and many times they are not.

And I don't buy the going into your profile jump starts one being sent..I believe it's totally random.

I agree. Random 100%.
Talk about Murphy's law - getting a PIN the day BEFORE you are leaving!!!!!

I know! But beats it arriving the day after I left :thumbsup2
Would have killed me not knowing if it would have made a difference!

I've received quite a bit from them over the past 11 years. I couldn't use any of them. We're DVC members so I book my resorts with our points. Plus, the offers were never at the times we wanted to vacation.

I always wondered why we get them. The only time I booked a Disney Resort was 11 years ago when we bought our DVC membership. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for 8 nights. After that, it was DVC resorts.

:confused3

I got a pin back in the Fall that gave me 35% off my room in August. It's the only one I've seen for that late. Still hoping for free dinning as it would give us more savings but I can't complain about saving around $900 for two rooms!
CM told me if they had free dinning at the time we are there I can switch so I hope that is the case. Mind you I'm off two minds about the free dinning, I'd love it for myself but then I think it means more people eating at the table service places so harder to get reservations etc. Maybe that's ture and maybe not but I expect it does effect things and brings more people in during those times. I suppose that Disney either has the free dinning at times when there are less people going so its a way to get people to go then or to give them last minute and maybe get a few more people to go during a busy time. Just a theory but I'm certainly happy with my room savings.:thumbsup2

Free dining is almost always ONLY offered during (comparatively) slower times of the year to boost resort occupancy. This is why you never see FD during major holiday periods.

There is a strong and credible rumor from a reliable source that says that this year's FD offer will not be available at value resorts and will only be QS at the mods. Can't remember if deluxe resorts will get the DDP.

I've gotten multiple pins over the past few months that offered FD OR a room only discount. R/O wins out as the best deal for us, hands down.

was it 35% off any resort or just deluxes? :confused3

We are staying at a mod so now I can't remeber if it was 35% or 30% but it saved us around $900!
Might be hope for free dinning as we are going at the last week of August which is the beginning of value season...guess we'll see.:rolleyes1

It was mixed if I remember correctly. The % off varied by resort and room catagory. For example pool view bunk beds at AKL if I remember correctly were 35% off. Savanah view wasn't 35% otherwise we would have been all over it. AoA (suites) were covered, LM rooms at AOA weren't. Choice for us came down to AoA, Gardenview at CR, or the bunks at AKL. Figured we would take the space and extra room while the kids are still young enough to enjoy the theme.

As for getting PINs, there is a logic/science to it. No clue how Disney targets the codes however or to who. Last year DW had probably 6 offers for Disneyland, which at this stage in our life just don't work. This will be the 3rd time we have used a 35% off discount. As long as they keep sending those we will keep using them.
