i applied for my passport at the begining of feb & am still waiting- according to passport canada there has been a backlog (whats new) :guilty:

my question is for all you canadians out there- did you need a passport?i am a USA permenant resident with a green card- would this be enough ID with a license to get on board

i am really stressing about getting my passport in time :sad2: - i leave 5/6/05

Hi, although we all do travel with passports.. I was informed it was not a neccesity!

Try not to stress..It will come in handy surely, but you do not need it...I would call DCL to make sure though..

:flower:

I also applied for passports for my children because they will be on our May 2006 cruise and I haven't received anything yet.

We sent the documentation late Febuary, I know that I would not take any chances especially on a cruise. We did visit WDW with birth certificates but I prefer they have their own passports. Customs and immigration always make me nervous.....

We've been on a 7 day cruise twice now and both times we did need the passport. I think it depends on whether or not you are doing a 3/4 day cruise or if you are doing a 7 day cruise.

I would still think that you have lots of time to get the passport though.

We were on the January 15th, 7 day Western Cruise this year and we were informed that "All Non US Citizens must have a valid passport". Our passports were taken from us at the Terminal before embarkment and returned to us the morning of disembarkment.

Your I-551 is fine. Just bring that.

If you dont have your CDN passport yet, then bring your birth certificate to show your citizenship. Remember if your I-551 is expired then be sure to bring an I-797 extension letter as well. I was in the process of changing from a CPR to a PR during our last cruise. Worked out just fine though.

thank you for the replies- i am calling the passport office everyday to get the status- i am keeping my fingers crossed that i have it before we leave- there are to many conflicting answers- my TA also said that i wouldn't need the passport but i don't want to take any chances

Don't worrrrrrrrrrrry about it! :rotfl: In your docs they send you a VERY VERY detailed list of boarding documents that you need and I pretty much quoted part of it to you in my last msg.

My husband has dual citizenship in Canada & Jamaica, but has a permenant resident alien card for the United States. On our last cruise in Sept. I went into panic mode about his passport being expired. I called and emailed Disney and they told me all he needed was his green card. I printed the email and brought it with me just in case. However it was not questioned they just took the green card, without any further questions. We did not even have his birth certificate. Hope this helps! Have Fun!
