Hi
I'm not sure if this is ok in the Canadian thread but here goes anyway--feel free to move the post if in wrong place.

I have been checking out flights from YYZ(Toronto) to (MC0) and looking at West Jet due to their non stop flights and close proxi to my home.. I know if I travel to BUF I'll get a better deal but I"m wondering does West Jet ever lower or offer specials on it's flights?
I'm special needs school staff so I can only travel certain times of the year (yeah most expensive times)
Any suggestions ???
Thanks

That is difficult, because even when the airlines offer great deals, the taxes KILL IT! I once saw Air Canada had advertised great deals to Orlando, but by the time you added taxes! OMGOSH! :scared1:

I even tried puting in some times at alternate airports like Kitchener and Hamilton--still they came out higher. Yep we Canadians are taxed pretty good!!
Still when you live almost a 15 min drive to YYZ it's hard to say ok I'm going to drive to Buffalo --maybe get a hotel $ and pay $ to have my car taken care of. Then when I leave to go home I''ll have to add time to drive home,,,,

this is frustrating,,,I 'm going to hop over to Red Tag .ca and see what they have but I know it's still tooo early for March 08flights to be out.

Have you tried any of the US carriers? We've found that flying to MCO with a US carrier can be much cheaper than flying with A/C or WestJet and with better flight schedules as well! ... For our upcoming flight in 40 days, we were able to snag a $245 CAD/pp roundtrip airfare with Northwest. Even for our trip in October we can get reasonable airfares with seat sales.

I guess I'm trying to compete with all the post from people getting SW $59 and $69 one way flights but in reality that's just not going to happen for me due to job and not wanting to spend an extra 1 day of traveling to and from BUF.
March is my time for trip ,,I can make it through the rest of the year but by then I really need a break. Thanks for the post ,,I'll keep on searching

Air Transat had some good buys to MCO and FLL over the past few weeks for late March and April travel. I booked some people Apr 13-20 non stop flight for $252 pp return. Also was some the same pricing and some even cheaper for the end of this past March! Deals do pop up here and there...just hard to predict.:confused3

It's no contest for me. I'm literally a 15 minute drive from Pearson and since 2004 I've flown roundtrip out of Buffalo 5 times (Orlando 2x RT, Denver RT, New Orleans RT, even NYC RT) , YYZ twice (international). The drive is 1hr, 30 minutes, parking for a week is $40USD.

Sometimes it can take you 90 minutes to get to Peason depending on traffic. Parking there has cost $120 or $50 at a park n' fly for a week or $70 RT in a taxi. Your flight will cost you half as much in Buffalo and seeing as though you do not have options is your dates (travelling at peak season), Buffalo will be a way better deal for you.
