H. I'm new at this, and just wondering if there are any Canadian DVC members that would be interested in forming a group for just Canadians to help out with the trade/rent/buy/sell of member points.
If so, just add to this thread, and/or send me an email via this forum.
We might be a bit short on a trip planned for Nov.2005 ~ thought it would be wise to get points from another Canadian, given our holiday dates are different from the US.
Looking forward to starting this up!!!

We are DVC Members from Montreal, Not sure if we will have any pts leftover but I like your idea of a DVC Group for Canadians

Im sitting an a balcony at Saratoga just watching the 60 Second firework show from PI, so it may be tough to let any go soon. But on the other hand I may need a loan (Rental) of More pts sooner than the end of the year (this place is so Awsome).

But let me Know what happens with the Canadian DVC'ers

That's what WDW needs - a curling arena!

Disclaimer: I'm from Detroit; before cable, CBC9 from Windsor was our only other option, so I grew up with Mr. Dressup and The Friendly Giant ("Look up. Look waaaaaaay up!"). I've also actually curled - it's harder than it looks.

From Toronto, born and bread. Go LEAFS....oh never mind.

We bought our BWV points, in Toronto, before we moved to Houston. 21hr drives, CDN$...some dedicated DVC'ers up there.

Good luck with the forum.

From Windsor. Oh how I miss the Friendly Giant! I have one question for the OP - why do we need to rent from a Canadian DVC'er? Just wondering what the advantages would be to this board.

Thanks for your interest! Sounds like you're having a nice time!! From Montreal eh? Cool!! I've always loved that city!!!!
So, yes, this group, its really to offer Canadians a trading spot. Our holidays are different, and, so is March Break!!!! We made arrangements to deal with the shortage of points. As you say, you might need some later on, I might too!!! The more Canadians, the better the options for trading/rent/buy/whatever points with the Canadian holidays and school terms. I'm in Ottawa. Hope to hear from you again!

Barb45....renting/buying/trading/selling/whatever-ing.....it just might be logistically more useful for Canadian members to renting/buying/trading/selling/whatever-ing, given the different holidays US members have. Like, today!!! Its Martin Luther King Day.........Canadians, its another regular work day!!......eh!!!

Seriously, I really see no difference with whom you rent from.

Fellow Canadian's
I have rented points on a few occasions to top up a ressie etc. It really makes no difference where the points come from, once I rented from someone in Hawaii. Contacted them by email in the morning paid them by pay pal, they called ms's, transferred the points into my account and i made my ressie by the end of the same day simple as could be.
As far as a Forum for Canadians there is one already on the DIS. You could always post there.

We are a family of 5 and in Ontario. My inlaws are also members and in Ontario. We often have a few extra points but sometimes need some extra points I have friends coming with us on our next trip and they will be looking to rent as all our points are spoken for so this would be great for them. Also we are HABS fans so you leaf fans can  :sad1: as it will be a very long time till they ever win another cup LOL.

no one has asked the big question yet,....

Are we using Uncle Sam's currency, or the good ol' Loon?

;);)
