Hi all,
When we go to EPCOT WS, I love visiting all of the pavilions. I always try to eat at a different Country TS. We have eaten TS at UK, Mexico, Norway and France. For our upcoming trip my kids want to try Japan.

We will have the chance to do one extra WS TS this trip. Since we will be doing Japan for the kids I was going to pick the other. I am thinking Tutto Italia in Italy, but I am curious about Le Cellier.

On the restaurant board Le Cellier gets awesome reviews. It also fills quickly. I am tempted to try it but part of me feels that as a canadian I would enjoy eating something from a different country - that I wouldn't get at home.

As a canadian have you eaten at Le Cellier? Or do you prefer to try food from other countries?

WE HAVE NEVER EATEN THERE , AS A CANADIAN WE LIKE TRYING OTHER FOODS BUT WE HAVE HEARD GREAT THINGS ABOUT THAT RESTAURANT. WE BELONG TO DVC SO WHEN WE BOOK OUR MEALS THRU THEM I ASK WHAT THEIR OPINION WOULD BE. LAST DEC WE WENT TO EPCOT TO DO THE CANDLELIGHT AND DINNER. ALMOST EVERYTHING WAS FULL. A COUPLE THAT WERENT FULL WE WERENT KEEN ON DOING.
I ASKED THE DVC PERSON WHO WAS BOOKING FOR US HER OPINION. SHE RECCOMMENDED THE MOROCCAN. WE ENJOYED IT, ITS NOT QUIET BUT WE LOVED THE FOOD. WE SAT BESIDE THE SMALL STAGE AREA WHERE THE 2 MAN BAND PLAYS MOROCCAN MUSIC AND MAYBE EVERY 20 MINs THE BELLY DANCER COMES OUT. SHE SOMETIMES GETS THE KIDS UP DANCING TOO.

:wizard:We tried Le Cellier last August for the first time. I loved it because I love all things Canadian! DD found the restaurant unbelievably cold and was unfortable. DH liked the food but that's about it. When I made my ADR list for this August, Le Cellier did not make the list. It was nice once and once was enough for us. (Bring a sweater!)

As an aside, last year, the 90 d ADR ressie was in place, not the 180d. I made my ADRs before the on line system came into effect. So 90d out, I was able to get Le Cellier at lunch on a Saturday. Nothing was available to book for the evening. Fine. We made it work. I kid you not, the restaurant was never more than half full. It made no sense to me! All the talk about no ressie times, no ressie dates and we sat in a half empty restaurant. DH had no idea what I was talking about but honestly, it was half empty. Bizarre!

We've eaten at Le Cellier three times and love it - we'll try for it again next trip. We've also eaten in Japan, Morocco, Italy, France and Mexico. I wouldn't recommend Mexico - love the setting however our experience with service and food wasn't stellar, especially the service as our waiter was extremely poor. We loved the food in Morocco and Japan and the service/entertainment value is high. The food in Italy and in France was very enjoyable and the service was great...no entertainment except the waiters boosting our egos and getting the opportunity to speak French (DS loved that). Hope you enjoy wherever you end up.

Le Cellier is definitely worth the effort. As a Canadian be sure to let your server know where you're from.

Our server was from Sault Ste. Marie and we instantly had a common bond. He got the word around that we were from Alberta and several other servers came by to say hi, including one from Edmonton that stayed and chatted for about 10 mins.

The food is wonderful. The cheddar cheese soup is to die for and I told my wife that I wouldn't mind having that recipe. Apparently I was overheard and a recipe card was in my hand in seconds.

Good luck getting dinner reservations, we had to settle for lunch, which worked out for us as one of our party was leaving the same afternoon. :)

Love Le Cellier! A couple of years ago, I took my teenage DD(14 at the time), and this was her one request as her "birthday" dinner. Cheddar cheese soup, mushroom fillet with risotto, the chocolate "moose" for dessert...oh and pretzel bread. YUM

Le Cellier is absolutely one of our favorite restaurants. We had our 4th dinner there on Christmas Day this last December. Couldn't get ressies directly through ADR but we had met and exchanged business cards with a manager. We were able to contact her and she was able to get us in. We are Canadians living in the U.S and it is always nice to eat in a Canadian restuarant.

Food was wonderful as usual but we had a new server and she was not up to par with the other servers we have had.

We highly recommend this as one of the best at EPCOT. FOod quality and value is exceptional and it is still only 1 TS! Unbelievable as we think it is equal or better to some of the Signature dining restaurants we have tried.

We've talked about going, and it sounds like a great restaurant, but we figured that since we can get Alberta beef any old day of the week that we would try other places. So we went to Tokyo Dining last time and enjoyed it very much.

We had it, loved it, are going back.

But as for Canadian... come on, is a Steak House really Canadian? I've never seen Cheddar Cheese soup or Pretzel bread at the local Canadian diners.

I think it's more Canadian in spirit...

Try it though, it's great.

I should mention that all the beef served at Le Cellier is Australian not Canadian. Tasted fine, though, and that's coming from an Alberta beef snob.:)

We have eaten at LeCellier four times and are booked for our fifth in a few weeks. We love it! We have tried several others in Epcot but LeCellier always tops our list (Chefs de France is a close second). Try it...I'm sure you won't be disappointed. :goodvibes

See, I think Le Cellier is good, I am not inclined to say great??? Not quite sure where the hype comes from?

We go there once every few years..but that's about it. My DD will be working there come May though so I guess we will be going more;)

The hype comes from - it's the best steak house in Disney that's a single credit on the DDP, and the restauraunt is not that big, so books up quickly.

We thought we might put this on our itinerary for June but hubby thought we could go to the KEG and get a comparable meal for loads of $$ less....:)

Totally agree. I keep looking for the pretzel bread though. Found some pretty good cheese soup at Jack Asters. Ask for a side of bacon bits and but them in the soup and it's pretty close.

Again totally true.

Plus there's all these attractive polite canadian wait staff that also draw people in.

If you are on the dining plan then it's cheaper to eat at le cellier. Especially if you do one of their appetizer/main course/desert deals.

The steak is meh. Coming from Alberta though nothing really compares to Alberta beef:). The soup did nothing for me and the pretzel bread was tough and dry. When I told the waitress we were Canadian she looked at us like we had a third eye and was surly throughout the whole meal lol. When I travel 3000 miles I always want to try new things....either regional cuisine or little holes in the wall offsite. I have never understood the hoopla about Le Cellier:confused3 The pavillion itself is beautiful though.

We tried it for the first time in 2008. We will be going again in March. We really loved it actually and had indeed overlooked it many times because "it's Canadian and so are we"... but really at the end of the day, it's just a really good steakhouse, so I say go for it!!

Besides, you know the staff will be friendly ;)

Le Celier is always a must on our dining list. The food is great, and it's like having a little piece of home at WDW - since we have to settle for non-Timmy's coffee:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

We tried Le Cellier for the first time in October. We were there for free dining so we tried lots of different restaurants and it was by far our best meal - not withstanding Boma for the buffet :thumbsup2. I had the NY strip and it was one of the best steaks I've had and being from the west I've eaten my share of good steaks. DW and DD had the filet, which they enjoyed and DS had the salmon. He liked it a lot but the portion was kind of small. Like others have mentioned we had never had "Canadian" cheddar cheese soup before so we ordered a bowl to share. We all really liked it. And we also thought the breads were great - and fresh and hot!

So I say give it and try but make sure you make your ressie at the 180 day mark!
