I had booked for early may at Coronado Springs as I couldn't get a full week at my home resorts at the time. I just booked a week in December at BCV (so I'll cancel CSR) but do you think we'll be able to travel safely by December. When I booked the first trip I thought we'd be okay by May. This was to be my retirement trip, now I'll delay retirement for another 6 months, I'm really stressing about being able to travel by then. My usual habit is to fly out of Buffalo, but that's a no go for now. I know... I'm rambling :confused3 .

I'm feeling good about late summer /early fall .I don't know about Canada but I believe that vaccinations will be ramping up soon here in the states.

Also being from Canada, we have cancelled a WDW stay last November and an Aulani trip next month. We now have booked an 8 night Christmas trip to WDW for 2021 and will follow with the Hawaii trip Feb 2022. I feel really good about this. When this first started my doctor told me that Covid would last for two years as previous epidemics have run their courses during that span. If it doesn’t I will go stir crazy.

Similarly we cancelled a couple of trips recently, and rescheduled to WDW Nov 2021 and Aulani Christmas 2021. Not sure if either or both will happen though. Hard to plan points with so many unknowns. Will be pushing points close to their expiry which is stressful in a pandemic. Kids are little so won’t be vaccinated for awhile. I wish we had a crystal ball.

International guests here (UK).

Our trip has been pushed as follows

June 2020 -> Sep 2020 -> Feb/Mar 2021 -> Nov/Dec 2021-> (and once window opens possibly another push out to to Jan, Feb or March 2022!)

Some points now have to go to RCI to keep them alive. If we don't go before the end of March 2022 then even more points will have to go that way! We are quite proactive in pushing the trip out, never had a booking we felt had a greater than 50% chance of been used yet!

Having given it some thought it seems to be layers of questions that affect what the situation will be in the future for travelling to WDW for using DVC points. Baseline assumptions is late 2021 most adults in the UK will have been offered a vaccine. Really not sure what the situation in the USA will be but assumption that the USA will have a lower vaccinated population for a number of reasons. The differentiation could mean more covid in circulation in the USA that could still have an impact on travel. Suspect travel will be advised against to the USA for some time after the USA allows entry from the UK.

No use in stressing, as it won’t change the outcome. We pushed our 289 expiring points out as far as they’d go—booked for November 28 through December 1. Following that with a December 1-8 stay. At this point, I’d say it’s at best 60/40 that we will go. I’m fully prepared to lose the 289 points. If the government is correct, we’ll be vaccinated by September. Kids though—who knows? We won’t travel until the kids are vaccinated too and the quarantine restriction, as well as the testing restrictions have been lifted. A lot of moving parts here. I’d put the booking out of your mind for now and see what happens. It’s all beyond our control. Sucks, but that’s the reality.

I'd feel comfortable traveling right now but we're just going to wait for the land border to reopen. We've cancelled a bunch of trips already and have a few on the books. The earliest one, that I'm not holding my breath on, would be May. If/when that one ends up getting cancelled I'll end up having to rent out some points before they expire. I've told my business partner though that as soon as the border is open he's not going to see much of me for a while lol

Canadian here. We of course cancelled our Dec 2020 trip and have another trip booked for Nov 2021. I've got my fingers crossed that we will be able to go. I feel confident that the borders and travel will be open by that time, but we aren't going unless we are vaccinated and there is no longer a mask requirement at WDW (our daughter has a breathing problem and can't wear a mask all day).

I had one cancelled trip July 2020, then January 2021, now May 2021. Fingers crossed for December 2021. Thanks for your thoughts.

cancelled italy 2020 and disney august 2020 booked Italy for July 2021 and disney December. 2021 but I think those will both be a no go with vaccines being delayed in Canada

Gosh, I hope you can travel by then! We are going for Easter and flying out of Albany, NY. We are 100% full steam ahead for that trip.

We were new DVC owners as of January 2020 before **** hit the fan, so of course that was super disappointing to have that in our back pockets and not be able to travel. A consolation though was being able to rent out our expiring points, which covered our 2021 dues and then some. So we’re building a bit of a nest egg towards our next trip! Like many others, we have cancelled and delayed many times! We booked for Dec 2021 and I’m finally feeling optimistic about that!

My husband and I are both essential workers and I also work in healthcare so that puts us in the earlier stages of the vaccination roll out. Even with delays I’m hopeful I’ll be called before the summer and my husband before the fall. We’ll have to play it by ear of course and will cancel if the situation is not much improved, but it’s nice to have something to look forward to! In fact, even though I had to keep rescheduling our trip dates, planning Disney trips (even if they only happen in my head!) has helped to keep me somewhat sane through this

I think my husband, older daughter and I should be vaccinated by our late November/December 2021 trip. My concern is my 11 yo twins. I don’t think they will get to children by then, which means we won’t be able to go. Regardless, the trip is booked and I’ll keep hoping and praying.

We had to cancel a March 2020 trip and the idea of traveling this year wasn’t even a consideration until vaccines started. We usually go in school break March and November and are thinking of making a “just in case” booking for November.
While I’m having Disney withdrawals, we aren’t at the point of being comfortable going to the WDW and parks, so it’ll be an Aulani trip if we go this year.
I give it 50:50 chance at most, since we won’t travel until the kids are vaccinated and restrictions are eased. With the slow rollout in Canada I’m not confident any of this will happen until at least late fall.
In the meantime don’t stress about your trip. Hopefully your plans can be cancelled if need be. Enjoy the trip planning and think of it not as stressful, but a therapeutic break from the stresses of life. DH has a theory that I enjoy Disney trip planning more than the actual vacation. I plead the 5th.

Canadian here also, we cancelled anything for 2021, but may go last minute in Oct/Nov depending on Vaccine and Travel Restrictions (both here and the US). We are planning a family trip for April 2022. I think that will be a pretty safe bet!

My concern is my children (6 and 8) not being vaccinated in time for our March 2022 trip. I expect that they will be vaccinated at some point in 2022 - and once they do, we are going!! I usually have no interest in summer at WDw but if that’s when we can go, we will.

I had to cancel summer 2020 in Disneyland. Will likely not be able to do a Disney trip until 2023 (because of other postponed plans mainly). I will probably not be able to use the points I banked in to 2021, which makes me sad. I may have to figure out if I can easily rent them

We cancelled April 2020 and then Nov. 2020. We have now booked mid Nov. 2021. We are supposed to be vaccinated by Sept but who knows if that is on track at this point. We will only use our park tickets if most restaurants are open, fireworks are back etc. Otherwise we may just do a DVC stay in SSR and do day trips, go to Disney springs, resort hop etc. We need to use a chunk of points by Dec 2021 or we will lose them.
