Canadian DVC members - what are you doing with expiring points?

I just recently bought my first DVC resale contract at the beginning of the pandemic, thinking early 2021 would for sure see travel to the US back in place... now I am not as sure as I was (still cautiously optimistic but much more uncertain...)
We have banked 2019 points that will expire in June 2021.
What are the options for Canadian travelers? I know about renting and transferring points but is this an option for Canadian members? And what about RCI?
I still have ways to go before I need to make a decision but I was wondering what everyone else does!

Not Canadian but British and I had 13 left over from 2019 so I rented them out, I actually booked a night around Thanksgiving at BWV and rented the reservation. I used a Facebook DVC rental page and was paid via Paypal friends and family.

Renting them out or RCI are your only other options if you still can’t go.

Banked points can not be transferred. Let’s hope before then you can go!

we have rented our extra points on these boards for years. We rented with Daves the first year, but seeing what is happening with him now, I dont recommend this

We are in Vancouver and I’m not keen to spend 8 hours travelling. WDW, vero and Hilton Head are the only options. We decided to rent what we needed so we wouldn’t loose points and book for Aulani (our home resort for Sept 2021). If by the start of August it looks like we still can’t get into Hawaii, we will put the points we would loose into RCI. But, RCI is a last resort for us.

I know there is a limited time to put the points in RCI according to UY, does anybody knows where qe can find the information?

Thanks to all for your replies
I certainly hope I won’t have to use those solutions but it is good to know we have options to rent even from Canada
Is it complicated to set up a paypal payment?

It's very easy to set up paypal, but not sure how the US/CDN exchange would work. A contract is very important also - you can search for samples.
Personally, we found using the DisBoards Rent/Trade more productive. I wasted a lot of time when i listed on 3 different Facebook DVC rental groups. Most people wanted to negotiate to super-low prices, or almost impossible requests (e.g., BWV Standard Studio a few months before the F&WF, AK Jambo Club Level, etc), were not ready to commit, wanted me to book but then be able to shop around for better price, etc.
I put the points up on the Rent/Trade here, and all points were gone in under 48 hours.

We are Canadian owners and always rent points through David's. I know he has had problems lately with Covid cancellations. He rented some points for us in April (after closure) and the guests just completed their stay, I got all my money, no problems. We live near his office and drive by occasionally just to make sure he is still there, lol.

The PayPal thing is easy to set up but the money goes into PayPal in USD. If you don't have a USD account, the only way to get the money out is to transfer it to a Canadian bank account and pay terrible exchange rates to PayPal. The other option is to shop online in USD but we don't find that works all the time. For example you cant buy Disney USD gift cards because you are seen as using a Canadian PayPal account even though it is in USD.

I happened upon the BBB complaints site for DVC and there are many complaints from people this year and it looks to me like they all were able to extend their use year after filing a complaint with BBB...I don't really want to convert my points to RCI, so I was thinking another option might be to file a complaint with BBB...
