I posted on another board but it was suggested I ask fellow Canadians if the machines take canadian coins. Does anyone know? If the machines do then I will get rolls - otherwise we will wait until we are at WDW.

You can put Canadian pennies in the machines - it doesn't really matter because you are going to press them.
However, you will need US quarters. They are 51 cents for each - 50 cents plus the penny to press.
An idea - take two mini M&M's tube and put your quarters in one and your pennies in another. You won't be fumbling around to find your coins when you are at a machine. It works really well.

Also suggest that you keep the bright shiney pennies for the pressed coins as they always look so much better. Have fun!!

Coins before 1972 work the best as they are all copper not like the newer ones that are part zinc. :teacher:

When the newer ones squish they have these lines of silver that look funny. :3dglasses

Clean the older coins and they will look just as shiny as the new ones. :wizard:

Thanks - Anyone know how to clean pennies - I can search around now for them and make sure they are shiny!

Use Brasso or copper polish and that will clean them up quite nicely.

Thanks for that link on the pressed penny stations.

I googled "cleaning pennies" and there were over 200,000 hits. It sounds like the cheapest way to clean pennies is with straight vinegar (acetic acid is the ingredient in vinegar that contributes the most to removing tarnish from pennies). Put the pennies in a cup with some vinegar and stir. Don't leave them too long and wash & dry off after. Also, sounded like this was only good for pennies and left silver coins with a stain.
