Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

Spirit- new to me.. It actually wasn't too bad at all. I wouldn't mind flying on it again( but maybe not with children, as they want you to pay for carryons and checked bags. I got to take a backpack filled with all my stuff I would need. just me, not bad.)

Ah.
Boy those fees are getting ridiculous aren't they?
Pay for carryon too? Sheesh!
I think I'm going to wear my photo vest a
nd stuff all the pockets with toiletries and socks and underwear.

YES!! I really enjoyed having a mini vaca alone, just wish it had been a day longer. lol

Or maybe two... or a week?.... Month?... ???

It's shoty pay, and heavy on the worry.... I wouldn't suggest going pro unless you're prepared for the cons ;)

Oooh.... Nope. I don't think I'd enjoy prison.
That's where the cons are, right?

Yeah, I've always been like that. I get panicky and worriedx100000000000 and then I can't calm down until they start boarding and i'm in my seat. Everything and anything that might go wrong pass through my mind. and some of those are odd and would never happen scenarios. And I have flown often enough that I know how the concept goes and all that jazz, but I'm forever anxious before a flight. Take off and landing are pieces of cake and being in the air is a breeze.

Interesting. I think you're the only person I've heard of who's like that.

I'm letting you know that I'm still around reading and lurking, and that I read your recent update. However with the policy that only suck up comments in the official comment (at least I hope that what's you mean), I need some time to digest and think about my answers to your bonus questions. Since I was on top only a few updates ago and now I'm sucking. I feel that I will be brutally cast aside when the total wait time comes around, but not sure if I should risk the loss of points just to lose out again. Who knows. DME could make you wait forever. I know it does for us.

With Thanksgiving and all my problems with having to visit the parks so frequently, I have gotten behind on commenting on people's TRs, but I have been reading, quite frequently, I just haven't had the time to comment properly on everyone's TRs. And my parents are only 15 minutes away from arrival so I will be in and out. It depends on how many crosswords my parents decide to work on and whether I can steal DIS time!

I haven't made it past 7:00 a.m. since I had kids.

And then once that's completely and irrevocably ingrained in your genes... they start sleeping 'til noon.

Right, because she hasn't spent any time resting in the room yet today.:sad2:

Oh, I know.... I know!

Well, sure. But that's what gives you the right to say this stuff.

With age comes wisdom.

I've got the age part down.... when does the wisdom come???

Literally, no. But figuratively, yes! That's quite a bit of "chilling in the room". I would have been crawling up the walls!

I may have been.... :rolleyes1

Dang it! I had a 50/50 shot between this and Figment and guessed wrong. As usual.

You're doing really well in the guessing the wrong way department!

Always good to know you're not senile. Yet.

Did I leave out the part where I pointed to every single
animatronic/mannequin and state "Dad!"?

It's still just okay. That 45-minute time commitment is a killer. But then again, I like Ellen and think the ride is somewhat entertaining. You could do worse. Like riding Journey Into Imagination. But nobody's that dumb, right?

I won't willingly ride Figment (or Tea Cups),
but I did promise Kay that it was her trip
and we'd do what she wanted as much as possible.

I'm such an idiot.

Rides without puke are very underrated.

You sound like a parent.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Well done!

You have no idea how hard it was to not grin
when she said she didn't remember which one was the "bad" one.

Ooh, I like that shot. Nice one.

Thanks!

Don't worry, that won't be a problem for too much longer.

Yes!

Exactly! I'm always amazed at how many people defend this ride. I find it ironic that Journey Into Imagination is the least imaginative ride in all of Disney World.

Ditto. You go in thinking "Wow! Disney and Imagination!
This is going to be mind blowing!"

::yes:: Several megabytes of processing power.

640K is more memory than anyone will ever need.

:sad2: And with so few restaurants in Epcot to choose from, it should have been a gimme!

:rolleyes2

:confused3 Weird. My parents usually make my kids find the pickle on the tree before they get any gifts. I wonder if I should tell them.

Nah.

Ignorance is bliss.

Or they've seen you guys eat spaetzle before.

bill-murray-ive-seen-larry-eat_zpsw1ph3jyo.gif

I love when they say a particular wine has "earthy oak notes". Say what? How do you know, unless you regularly taste dirt and bark?:confused3

Unless that wine taster is part beaver...
then all bets are off.

::yes:: Pretty sure they were originally developed under chemical weapons research.

I dunno. I don't think the technology exists to make anything that vile!

This happens all the time! "The chef refuses to serve this dish unless it is medium rare." Really? Then I refuse to pay for it!

::yes:: Kay will only eat a steak if it's rare.
And she means "rare"... not medium rare.
There've been a couple of times where she's told the waiter "rare"
and the waiter has made a comment like
"I'll just tell them to make it medium rare, okay?"
I've stopped correcting them.
If they want to throw away a perfectly good steak, who am I to argue?
(I've told Kay that if it's overcooked to send it back. You can't un-cook a steak!)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Perfect! Sounds like we have the same palate

Hype is a dangerous thing. Except for Dole Whips. They cannot be overhyped.

::yes::

Wow, that was an awful lot of effort just to avoid taking it with you.

 I swear it really was unintended!

As someone recently said on my TR, isn't it great when you build in reasons to go back to a place you love?

What idiot would say that???

The wait times at each stop count, right? No? Crap.

Nice try.

Sounds like foreshadowing to me...

Maybe... maybe not.

That's different. I'm sure part of the humor was that it was unexpected. I liked the guy who got us seated the one time I rode it. Just as the doors started closing he turned and said, "Oh, one more thing, very important--"

SLAM.:rotfl:

They did that to us too!

Yes!! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Pretty sure that's how I looked, too.

:lmao: That kid kills me!

That's really interesting. I'm not sure I could bring myself to do that!

I didn't think I would either.
But I noticed one very important thing.
When you're trying so hard to hold yourself down, you can't.
But when the ride starts back up again, you slam into your seat.
The transition, without holding on, is much gentler.

Oh, no she didn't! Finish her!

:lmao: It was a verrrrrry close thing.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: You guys are kicking butt with the ride photos.

 Thanks! But that (I believe) was the last one.

That certainly beats, "Man, those idiots ruined our photo!"

 True!

Now that I didn't know. Love the details!

I never noticed it until I was cropping the photo.
"Hey, what's this "Gower" up there?
Thanks Google!

Thanks for narrowing it down! I'll go with 2.

You're gonna make me Google the menu, aren't you? Fine.

(Googling.)

How about the POP Waffles? Because I can't imagine you trying the Pop Tart breakfast sandwich.

Due to foreshadowing, I'll say yes.

When I took the P.E. (Professional Engineering) Exam, my default answer if I didn't know was B. And there must have been a lot of B's that year, because I passed. Anyway, when in doubt, the answer is B. So you watched the otters at AK.

42.

No, really!

Noted. and.... No freaking way!!!
That's awesome and hilarious and... kinda spooky all rolled into one!

Getting late. Tired. More shout-outs to come.

Nope no falling out of chairs here. I’m at standing desk.

I sorta have one of those. The keyboard tray moves up
and two of the multiple screens move up.
But I have to sit if the phone rings.
The phone rings all the time.

We did this once. On a 12 day trip.
I can’t say I’m in a hurry to do it again.

I rest my case.

Slow clap.

Thank you. I'm here all week.

Ya like that do ya?

I almost picked that one. In fact, it was my first instinct. But then I went back to your last TR and did a little researched. Since you almost got the margarita but forgot I thought maybe this time.
Oh well… should have gone with my instincts.

Good guess then.
I still haven't gotten one. (I'm not a big drinker)
Maybe next trip?

But I definitely will have another GGS!

My DH feels this way about Splash. He loves the ride… except for the drop. He has often said that they ought to have a chicken exit just before the drop so you can experience the rest without that part.
As you can imagine, he just flat out refuses to do TOT.

So not big on falling.
So... going on a ride that does it over and over.... and over again...

Why oh why do they do this?
Do they not realize we can see them?
Or that it’s the most infuriating thing ever?

I know! She almost died!

Kay did an excellent job. If you took the picture of her out of context I would absolutely have thought she was sleeping.

 She did a much better job than I did.
I wanted to put my head on my hands,
but couldn't reach because of the restraints.
So it looks more like I'm praying than sleeping.

Shocked yourself, huh?

Number of Parks: 2
Breakfast: Orange Juice… and bounty platter.
Does Kay get Stuck: Yes
First thing you do: Train at MK
Airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow: Indeterminate.

Noted and.... going for those brevity points I see.

I'm developing a nervous tick just reading this update.

This is what the world needs.
A hunter with a rifle and a nervous tick.

Nervous tick growing stronger...

Perfect. Remind me to stay out of your state in hunting season.

Meanwhile, you've been up since 7, right?

That nervous tick just keeps getting worse. I can already see how you'll be when you get back to the room after being stuck in a hotel room all morning...

the_shining_2.jpg

How'd you get a hold of Kay's camera?

Ok... I'm guilty. And I'm not a "kid." I can sit and check FB play some Candy Crush while I'm watching TV. But nothing that takes too much thought.

:sad2:

This day just keeps getting better!

Well, it did stop when we left the room.

Who did you piss off???

:lmao:

Oh come on! You know that when it rains is when you want to be in the park since everybody scatters!

True... and yet. I didn't feel like standing in it while waiting for a bus.
And you know that if you're waiting for a bus in the rain,
it automatically will be the longest you've ever waited.

No. I didn't fall out of my chair.

But I did throw up in my mouth just a little bit.

 Sorry about that.

I mean, you know... you'd hate to wait more than 4 minutes for a bus after you've waited 6 HOURS in a hotel room!

:rolleyes1

We'll accept that. Because her word is worth about 5 times as much as yours.

Pretty much.

Noo!!!!!

Whew!

Had ya going there.

Look, it's a good ride if you need a nap and need to break up a day around mid afternoon. But you didn't leave Pop until nearly 3. Let's assume that by the time you got to EPCOT, into the park and off SSE, it's probably around 3:45 or 4. THE PARK WOULD BE CLOSED BY THE TIME YOU GOT OFF OF THIS RIDE!!!

Geez! I never even thought of that!
But you're right!
"Honey. We can do TT, Soarin', MS, SE or Ellen."

So in a nutshell... it's good news!

Except for the photo op. It was a complete success.

Oh... that's so evil.

I love it!

Insert evil laugh...

Did you ever fess up? :rolleyes1

Yep.

It's impossible to ignore. :sad2:

It's really bad. You can tell they've given up, knowing a new one's coming.

And that's what it is all about!

:goodvibes

You don't need to go to the Imagination Pavilion. Clearly, you've already got a very active imagination.

It certainly would've been more entertaining to skip it.

Easy... but boring...

By the time the ride ended, she'd already figured that out and changed her mind.

Ok, let's just stop this train of thought right here.

Yes, the ride sucks.

The imagination pavilion in its present form sucks.

But they can't mess with Figment. Too many people, myself included, like the little purple fella.

They can, however, scrap the entire attraction in its current form and start over.

Okay. Keep the critter. Scrap everything else.

Oh, just use your imagination and they're impressive!

I can't imagine.

That skunk smell from Imagination was lingering.

Oh, was that what it was? I thought it was just Kay.

Beer Flight!!!!

Oh. Ok. That too. Who goes to Germany and doesn't get beer though????

Answer in 3...

Well said! I'm not a big wine fan myself. I guarantee I couldn't tell you a $500 glass of wine from a $5 glass of wine. But I'd probably like the $5 one more.

2...
(and I'd possibly be the same. I wouldn't know...
don't expect to ever have a $500 glass of wine!)

Oh. Well then, there's that. I guess that's a legitimate reason for not getting the beer flight.

1.

Well, the odor finally cleared.

And yet the horror lives on.

Oh, you earned my respect and gained my sympathy. 6 hours in a hotel room. 1 hour in a store in EPCOT. You survived the Disney day from hell.

Hm. Never thought of it that way.
But.

Yes.

Yay!!! And crap!!! I had a 50/50 chance and I picked the wrong drink!

Well, I can't just give these things away!

Wait. I kind of do, don't I?

Not many things are "the best thing in the world."

Kind of like Dole Whips. They're fine. I was a bit let down the first time I had one. I'll have one and I'll enjoy it. But it isn't the best thing I've ever had and the world won't end if I don't get one.

But anyway I'm glad the slush lived up to the hype for you.

Actually, for me, Dole Whip float (has to be the float) did.
And that GGS certainly did!

That's the thing... I personally don't like to have alcoholic drinks when it is really hot and I'm sweating. Partly because alcohol contributes to dehydration, but in a lot of cases they just don't leave you feeling refreshed when you're feeling hot and really thirsty.

These things would totally work in that situation though. The ice and the flavor... just perfect.

::yes:: What you said.

I see what you did there. Well played. :rolleyes1

Honest! I didn't break it on purpose!

I can't say I was overly upset about it. But it really was an accident!

I agree. I mean if you're in a hurry, the walk might make sense. But if you want to get off your feet and just enjoy the sights, it makes perfect sense.

And that's just what I wanted.
It was actually a trip highlight!

Do you need any more excuse! I'd love to stay at Beach Club sometime.

 No. I really don't need another excuse!

You don't appreciate the best part!!!!!!!!

I do now!

Well done! I appreciate your effort.

All for my fans.

Readers...

People who put up with me.

Because you're letting go... giving up control and letting the joy and euphoria of the ride take over!

I mentioned this earlier, also because it's smoother.
When you hold on, you seem to slam back down on the seat.
Without holding on, the transition seems much smoother.

Darn... that's too bad.

Yeah, she was pretty bummed about that.

So that's what it takes. An eye roll.

But I've got to think the 6 hours of sitting around the room waiting to go to the parks had to have a significant contribution. This was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Honestly, no.
I didn't mind the hotel hiatus.
I knew that would happen going into this vacay.
But if I hadn't just been in February, I would've been freaking out.

Well, it would be nice to get right on, but missing the pre-show kind of takes a little bit away from the experience, I'd think.

It did. I remember thinking "Awww... shoot."
But then I forgot about it once the ride started.

Yes!!! She converted you!!!! Now @Captain_Oblivious is back to being the lone Disdad that we can all make fun of for his fear of ToT!!!!

And we shall mock him and make him feel small.

Do you know what I'm scared of???

Stupid people!

Yeah.... That was so strange.

2

I'll say Bounty Platter, just because that's what I'd have.

No

I'll go with B. Because all of the choices make me want to die a little bit on the inside.

But then again, it isn't like you're wasting the first hour after rope drop by doing these things when you finally arrive at the parks. :rotfl2:

Less than 1300 feet per second.

10076894.jpg

Noted and ... :rotfl:

2:54pm!?!?! I wanted to fall out of my chair, but managed to hold on.

Had to hold on tight, too, I bet!

I am significantly impressed by your patience! I don't know that I could have waiting for that long!

I am a man of many talents.

Although, I will say I am always impressed by people who aren't as uptight about 'getting as much done' as I am at Disney. Sometimes it would be nice if I had that philosophy!

I usually don't.
It really, reallllly, helped that I'd just been in February.

Ooh, dinner in Germany looks delicious! We haven't managed a dinner there yet, and I'm not real sure why? Most reviews I've read are good!

It was good!
If you like German fare that is. (We do!)
It's not for people who like "lite" food.

Looks like you had an great night at HS. I love that you were just headed to the park at nearly 10pm! Someday when my little guys are teenagers I am sure we will trend from Morning people to Night Owls!

 When I took her last, she was 8.
Times certainly have changed!

Now to my guesses.
I think you will hit 2 parks.
I think you will have Mickey Waffles for Breakfast, because they are the best.
I think that Kay will get stuck going into the park again, because it doesn't seem like she's that lucky.
I think you will take the train when you get to the MK- because why walk when you can ride!

As for unladen swallow: I do not have sufficient information to answer the question? Shall I assume the average size of a swallow? What is the Wing span? Can you provide specific information on the Air Conditions that day? I could consider a spherical swallow in a vacuum, but I don't think that is the answer you are looking for.

Noted. And... how very specific of you!

This sounds so much like a 14 yo I know...

And like both an 11 yo and a 14 yo I know...but I'm sometimes guilty too.

No - again, sounds like a 14 yo I know!

:lmao: Sounds like you've read this before!

Good move. Still wondering if you ever did fess up!

Yep!

Nothing like totally confusing your friends and family.

I know! She's weird like that some times.

I don't know if I dare tell dd. They did a "Holidays around the world" theme for choir last year, and sang a song about the pickle for Germany. I even got her a pickle ornament, because she kept singing the darn song!

Break it to her gently...

Good time for a buffet, methinks.

::yes::

I'm with you on this one. Except possibly okra (not in gumbo). Strangely enough, my sister loves them. Brussels sprouts, that is, not okra. And a while back, they were the side dish at a family bar mitzvah, and she got most of our table to give her their unwanted brussels sprouts. She was in hog heaven!

Yuck! My Dad loves Brussels sprouts too. :sad2:
Methinks I need to relate the pkondz Brussels sprouts story
in the next update...

Of course. We spent quite a bit of time just in the Pokemon section, and didn't even check out the rest of it!

Wow. That sounds eerily familiar!

Those eye rolls can hurt!

Yeah. When I smack her upside the head!

You look rather zen-like, actually.

I wanted to pose with my head resting on my hands.
But the restraints prevented it, so that's what I got.

No, not the yard of sugar! But thanks for the bonus point!

Sorry... and... You're welcome!

2
I had to look up the menu, since I've never stayed there! I'm going to guess the waffles
Gonna guess Kay gets stuck again at the tapstiles
B

Faster than a laden swallow

Noted. and.... makes sense.

my guesses::

3 parks

POP waffle

No

A

Uh, I don't know, do you? I'm blonde, remember ;)

OH, and "YAY" :)

Noted. and.... yes. I remember.
And... Hmmmm... "Yay" you say....
Hmmm.... I'll give it to you this round. Not the next.

That's like almost the whole day over already!!! But you did stay out late so I guess I will forgive you.

Thank goodness! Where would I be without your blessing????

I was really shocked at how busy SE was when we were there. I mean I enjoyed the ride but the standby line was crazy.

I've found that if you go to SE and there's a line.
Leave.
Come back later, there won't be one.

Hey I'm a fan of figment - but when there is a line, it does seem to take three hours.

::yes::

Eventually, Kay figured she was ready to go and we set out.
We arrived at the Pop bus stop at 2:54pm.
(How many of you have just fallen out of your chairs?
Let me know (either yes or no) and you'll get bonus points!)

:scared1: 2:54?! Holy cow, I'd be climbing the walls to get out of my room, rain or not. And yes, I do believe I have fallen and can't get up

At 2:58pm our bus arrived.
Four minutes! What gives?
I don't know how people can live like that!
I mean I am much more accustomed to not waiting at all.

Travesty making you wait a whole 4 minutes!

She remembered that one of the drinks tasted bad.
The good news?
She didn't remember which one it was.

I don't know what it was about this time on Soarin'.
Maybe it was because I'd been on it not that long ago
(back in February)
or maybe it was because Kay was there.
But right off the bat, I immediately noticed just how bad
the film is.
Lots of dust and stuff.

I noticed that too, the dust floaties on the screen. Can't wait for the new soarin' show!

Fish - a sweet white wine.
Chicken - a sweet white wine.
Beef - a sweet white wine.
Sushi - a sweet white wine.

I'll drink to that! sweet white wine is always the way to go in my book

My very first Grey Goose Slush!

Yum! I'll have to add that to my wish list

Every time I ride it, I do so wishing I could skip the ride part.
I don't want to use the chicken exit, though.
Because I like all the stuff that happens on the car
before you start yo-yoing.

I'll have to try the hands free method next time myself. Last time I hung on for dear life and pretty much hated every second of the yo-yo part

How many parks do we hit?
(hint: it's between 1 and 4!)

let's be ambitious...3

We decide to have breakfast at Pop!
What do I have?

Pop waffels

Tapstiles.
Does Kay get stuck again?

I'm thinking her troubles with the tapstyles are over, so no

First thing we do after we enter the park.
Multiple choice!
Is it:
a. Take the train at MK?
b. Watch the otters at AK?
c. Ride Nemo at Epcot?
d. Frozen lemonade on Sunset Blvd?

let's go with A. Take the train at MK

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Zero points if you answer 11 meters/second or
"African or European".
Points awarded for creativity and brevity.

hummm, that's tricky. Taking into consideration that said swallow is unencumbered and flying solo and not drafting off of the Concorde, which is in a resting phase anyway, I'd say approximately 45 MPH

Hello there! So glad to read an update this week. It's been another tough week here (you can read about it later).

Sorry to hear that!

You always brighten my day!!!

I did have all my responses typed out on the ipad, but then my 14 month old wouldn't stop screaming (again an explanation below) and I had to turn on a Veggie Tale Christmas Song that he loves to stop the madness. I went back to finish and poof, gone.

Oh, no. To all of that.
Did you try closing the browser and re-opening it?

So, being the dedicated reader I am I had to redo it for my beloved Ponzi!

Aw, shucks. Now you've made me blush!

We only ever have after a Halloween Party.

Soooo.... Halloween party scheduled every few weeks?

You're such a great dad to let her sleep in. The Papa Ponzi Prize is awarded to you!

Thanks!

I might have accidentally spilled some breakfast and borrowed a vacuum from housekeeping. Oops sorry honey didn't know you were still sleeping.:idea:popcorn::

 I may have done this at home a few times.

I'm constantly doing more than one thing at a time. Busy, busy, busy.

Ah. Yes. A Mom. You're excused.

Really?

Just some...?

Yep. If I hadn't just been in February, things might've been different.

Yes, I fell. Ouch.

Sorry about that.

I think you should invent a button on that Mickey head on the magic band that sends a signal for a bus, I mean limo, to come pick up all DISsers. You of course would be at the top of the list.:thumbsup2

Now that's a good idea!

Pixie dust for doing something new and having fun!

:)

We have done it before as a time to let the little ones rest. When we got off my DH looked at me and said, "There went 45 minutes of my life I will never get back.":rotfl:He was so serious it was hard not to laugh.

:lmao:

Oh, I think that is the first time you actually didn't let her do what she wanted to do.

Well.... sort of.
What she doesn't know, she can't ask for. Right? :rolleyes1

"Look honey! It's time for our MS FP!"
....
"That was boring."
"Oh? Maybe we should've done the spinning version."
"There's a spinning version?"
"Yup! Too late now, though!"

So sweet!

She's a good kid when she wants to be.

Drat! I'm sure you'll keep the memory safe in your head though.

::yes::

Did she really believe you?

::yes::

That's great. Next time we go there will be a new film. I wish we could have seen the old film one more time.

I don't know. I suppose.
But having a new film without dust and scratches makes up for a lot of nostalgia.

Ya got that right!

Figment was one of my brother's favorite when he was a child. My kids enjoyed it too. I think it's all in perspective.

::yes:: Both DDs loved it and was their favourite ride when they were little.

Thanks for the lesson.

No problem.
That's just me. Solving life's problems, one at a time.

It must be nice to be a kid.

I guess. But the toys are better when you get older.

She really did a great job with the picture taking

::yes::

I'm determined to make it around World Showcase next time we visit. We always go with my parents and my mom is not a world showcase person. I always want to make her happy so we have yet to do it. I have started a list on what I really want to do based off other trip reports. I know I would really love to do pick a pearl with my daughter. I also think she'd love to meet all the princesses.

It's a long trek around the World. Pace yourselves.
Pick a pearl was something I did for the DDs in Hawaii.
They loved it.

Papa Ponzi Prize #2.

 Thanks again.

That looks great. I haven't had a drink in over 10 years. I'm always either pregnant or nursing. I just started weaning/sleep training my last little one this week (if you're wondering, yes, it's been rough). I think I'll celebrate taking back control of my body with one of those next time we go.

You could do worse than starting with a GGS.

I remember the sleep training days.
With Kay. No problem.
With Elle.... ugh.

I nailed that! I guessed DHS and the boat to get there! I'm so proud.

::yes:: I was surprised by that, actually.

I hate that too. In fact, I actually have a recurring nightmare where I'm stuck in an elevator falling to my death. I'm not even joking. I'm that pathetic.

So... Not too keen on TOT, then, huh?

Wow! That is so sweet of you to take that picture just for us. You are the best. We love you too!:love1:

Awwww....

Maybe I'll try it next time...:scared: ugh maybe not.

:rolleyes1

Oh, I think it's so precious to see a dad giggling with his daughter. It actually makes you look more manly.:flower1:

What about skipping? While singing a pop song?

Thanks for sharing that. I know I would have passed that right on by.

It was perfect.

Oh no!!!!!

Oh, yes!

Now why is it that daughters can do this so well? Please give me some pointers for my future years with my daughter as a teenager. My DH looked at me the other night and not kidding said, "And to think you actually wanted two of them." Just a little history we tried to give her a sister, but God had other plans and decided one little girl was all we could handle.

Well, you mentioned alcohol....

I don't know, really. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time.

And tell your DH to consider himself lucky!

Papa Ponzi Prize #3

It was so close. Sooooo close.

I'm sure your Splash with Chinese food is being shared already.

 Unfortunately, I'll never know.

Can I switch to 34?

Yup.

I'm sure everyone will say 2 or 3 so I'm going against the grain and say 4! I wonder if this is something Kay will find as a fun challenge.

You know I had to do some homework on this. I was going to say the Bounty Platter or Make your own Omelette, but decided on the pop waffles with sausage/bacon.
Nope.:tinker:

B. because how random is that. If I were going to do four parks in one day I would most definitely start at Animal Kingdom. It gets hot there fast.

How do you know so much about unladen swallows? Are you a king or something?

Noted. And.... yes.

Ah.
Boy those fees are getting ridiculous aren't they?
Pay for carryon too? Sheesh!
I think I'm going to wear my photo vest a
nd stuff all the pockets with toiletries and socks and underwear.
Hey, That's a good idea! They don't really watch you to see what you're carrying on- which is scary now that I think about it.... The fees for stuff is crazy. If you add it in the beginning when you first book, its cheaper. If you add it the day of, it's $100!!!! :O

Or maybe two... or a week?.... Month?... ???
An extra day or two would have been nice.. I even looked to see how long it would take to drive and contemplated going today for the weekend. BUT, money and time became factors.

Oooh.... Nope. I don't think I'd enjoy prison.
That's where the cons are, right?
Prison wouldn't be fun and I don't want you to succumb to a life of crime! Stay away- far away - from the cons!

Interesting. I think you're the only person I've heard of who's like that.
Well geez! I don't know if I should be flattered or not ;)
I love flying, just not the beforehand part hahaha!
I love driving more, but time restrictions call for flying more often than not!
My husband hates landing " how can such a huge plane land on teeny tiny wheels!"

Oh, well, thank you ever so! It's always a time to say "YAY" , so I went with it ;)
Plus, this past round I didn't fair so well. How could I not remember how much you wanted the grey goose slush and would need to get it this trip??? I felt like a failure with that question after the fact. :(
It's fun to guess your answers, though. Makes my day. ( flattery gets you everywhere, maybe?;) )

And then once that's completely and irrevocably ingrained in your genes... they start sleeping 'til noon.

Stinkin' kids.

With age comes wisdom.

I've got the age part down.... when does the wisdom come???

If I ever figure it out, I'll let you know!

You're doing really well in the guessing the wrong way department!

Story of my life.

I won't willingly ride Figment (or Tea Cups),
but I did promise Kay that it was her trip
and we'd do what she wanted as much as possible.

I'm such an idiot.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything....

Ditto. You go in thinking "Wow! Disney and Imagination!
This is going to be mind blowing!"

At least, i did the first time. Now it's, "I'm not wasting my time with that crapfest."

640K is more memory than anyone will ever need.

Any more than that and your computer would be the size of your house!

I dunno. I don't think the technology exists to make anything that vile!

Forged in the pit of hell, brussels sprouts.

::yes:: Kay will only eat a steak if it's rare.
And she means "rare"... not medium rare.
There've been a couple of times where she's told the waiter "rare"
and the waiter has made a comment like
"I'll just tell them to make it medium rare, okay?"

And there they go again. What happened to "the customer is always right"?

What idiot would say that???

:ssst:

I didn't think I would either.
But I noticed one very important thing.
When you're trying so hard to hold yourself down, you can't.
But when the ride starts back up again, you slam into your seat.
The transition, without holding on, is much gentler.

That's so counter-intuitive. I dunno...

That's awesome and hilarious and... kinda spooky all rolled into one!

I love crazy coincidences like that!

afwdwfan said:
Yes!!! She converted you!!!! Now @Captain_Oblivious is back to being the lone Disdad that we can all make fun of for his fear of ToT!!!!

And we shall mock him and make him feel small.

I rode it. I hated it. The dropping part, anyway.

Wow! I'm impressed. But I think that I would be OK with this. I'm one of those gals who loves FP+'s so that I don't have to do RD to hit up my favorite rides.

I do both. I do RD so that I can ride a bunch of stuff before my FPs come up.

Uh oh. I'm on the computer while "watching" TV. All. The. Time.

Arrrrggghhh!!! What is wrong with you people!!!

:lmao:

And I'm impressed you were able to handle this enforced rest time!

Only because I'd been recently in February, I think.

Ouch, that hurt! Caught me by surprise. I must have been caught by surprise while multi-tasking.

Sorry about that and.... :sad2:

I may have dozed off on my last ride. I must have been tired...

Then you should go ride it again!
And again and again and again, until you can stay awake through it!

Sigh. And it's not going to be open on my next trip. *cue sad violin music*

:charac2:

My wine flight consists of sweet rose wine with everything. So close!

And that's just my point!
You like sweet rose wine... and that's perfectly fine!
How would you like it if an "expert" walked up to you and told you
"No. You do not like cheeseburgers. They are bourgeois."

OK, I'm going to need way more details on this approach, being a death grip on the metal handles kind of gal.

It actually seemed smoother.
When I hold on tight, I feel like I'm slamming into my seat.
Without hands, the transition was a lot easier.

Weird, but that's the way I remember it.

See, everything is better in Disney, even the magnitude of eye rolls!

Define "better".

Bonus questions:
- 2 parks
- Pop Waffles with bacon
- Kay gets stuck again!
- Train at MK
- depends on how fast the train is going from station A to station B, how many apples Suzie had to begin with, and the current of the river involved. I'd estimate that the answer is 29, but my slide rule is rusty.

Noted. and... you have a slide rule?!?!?

And thank you for sharing the white stuff. Had to give in tonight and purchase a snow brush.

"A snow brush" she says.... :sad2: :faint:

Only if I've fallen asleep upside down and am looking at my alarm clock that way ;)

What are you doing up six minutes after midnight?

:rolleyes1

Who wants to "chill" when you're at Disney???

<sigh> Kay. Kay wants to chill at Disney.

Not only fallen off but broken.

Oh, you poor thing! Look at you all falling down and everything.

Yay I'm special! FP always seems to be longer than the standby line - plus you are out in the sun!

::yes::

Excellent choice (and parenting).

Thank you kindly.

Is it wrong to say I actually like Beverly?

Nope. Not wrong at all.
But liking Brussels sprouts is intrinsically wrong.

But. It. Has. Eric. Idle.

I know. And I like him too!
But... that show.... just... :sad2:

See you got me with the whole ADR thing because you really never need one for Biergarten!

I beg to differ.
I have personally experienced witnessing people turned away from Biergarten.
(Not me... I had an ADR.)

Darn it! I had that as my guess but changed it as I assumed you didn't like girlie drinks!

You've got that backwards!
I only like girlies!

Drinks! I only like girlie drinks!!!

I didn't know it could even show anything other than multiples of 5!

Educational this TR is.

1. 2 parks - MK and EPCOT

2. Can I have two guesses? Either the Chicken Fried Chicken or the Pop Tart Breakfast Sandwich!

3. Yes - because it is tradition now and you wouldn't want to ruin that.

4. Take the train at MK

5.

Noted. Bonus points if you can tell me what V1 equals.

I'm letting you know that I'm still around reading and lurking,

Well, hi there!

and that I read your recent update. However with the policy that only suck up comments in the official comment (at least I hope that what's you mean),

::yes::

I need some time to digest and think about my answers to your bonus questions. Since I was on top only a few updates ago and now I'm sucking.

Ponder and chose wisely.

I feel that I will be brutally cast aside when the total wait time comes around, but not sure if I should risk the loss of points just to lose out again.

Okay, let me be clear.

IF you change your vote right now...
and IF you win...
You will earn 25 points.

IF you leave your guess the way it is...
and IF you win...
You would win 30 points.

You won't lose points no matter what.

Busy, busy, busy.
I'll see you when you have time to spare!

:scared1: 2:54?! Holy cow, I'd be climbing the walls to get out of my room, rain or not. And yes, I do believe I have fallen and can't get up

I've mentioned this to others;
I think the only reason I wasn't climbing the walls
is because I was just there in February.

And yes. I get the reference.
I think we just dated ourselves.

Hey! We just dated!

Travesty making you wait a whole 4 minutes!

Do you think I should write a letter to complain?

I noticed that too, the dust floaties on the screen. Can't wait for the new soarin' show!

::yes:: If the old one is amazing, the new one????

I'll drink to that! sweet white wine is always the way to go in my book

::yes:: Prexactly.

Yum! I'll have to add that to my wish list

I'm not much of a drinker, but... I sure liked that!

I'll have to try the hands free method next time myself. Last time I hung on for dear life and pretty much hated every second of the yo-yo part

It was weird.
I was almost expecting to be sick or something...
And the opposite happened!

let's be ambitious...3

Pop waffels

I'm thinking her troubles with the tapstyles are over, so no

let's go with A. Take the train at MK

hummm, that's tricky. Taking into consideration that said swallow is unencumbered and flying solo and not drafting off of the Concorde, which is in a resting phase anyway, I'd say approximately 45 MPH

Noted. and... Concorde, huh? Interesting.

Hey, That's a good idea! They don't really watch you to see what you're carrying on- which is scary now that I think about it.... The fees for stuff is crazy. If you add it in the beginning when you first book, its cheaper. If you add it the day of, it's $100!!!! :O

The thing I can't stand is when they say something like:
"Fly from A to B for only $199!"
And then you check.
And then you find it's $199 one way.
And then you find it's $399 to come back.
And then you find you need to add in the fees.
And then you find it's actually $837.
And then you find that the "sale" is only on dates you can't fly anyway.

It's gotten better though.
Our government has cracked down on a lot of that.

An extra day or two would have been nice.. I even looked to see how long it would take to drive and contemplated going today for the weekend. BUT, money and time became factors.

Ah yes. Money.
It really is the root of all evil.

It's wicked that I don't have more so I can do what I want!

Prison wouldn't be fun and I don't want you to succumb to a life of crime! Stay away- far away - from the cons!

Yes, dear.

Well geez! I don't know if I should be flattered or not ;)

Oh, neither really. Just an observation.

Feel free to feel flattered if you like, though.

I love flying, just not the beforehand part hahaha!
I love driving more, but time restrictions call for flying more often than not!

I'm the same. Love to fly. Love to drive. Flying's faster. Driving's more scenic.

My husband hates landing " how can such a huge plane land on teeny tiny wheels!"

Sometimes they don't.

Flattery always gets you there.

Stinkin' kids.

Where do they get off, anyway?

If I ever figure it out, I'll let you know!

Thanks. I appreciate that.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything....

You really didn't need to.

At least, i did the first time. Now it's, "I'm not wasting my time with that crapfest."

Unfortunately... yes.

Any more than that and your computer would be the size of your house!

Why didn't they just stop at ENIAC, anyways? Wasn't that good enough?

Forged in the pit of hell, brussels sprouts.

Truer words were never spoken.

And there they go again. What happened to "the customer is always right"?

That only applies if you're not snooty.

That's so counter-intuitive. I dunno...
I rode it. I hated it. The dropping part, anyway.

Look. You know that Disney wouldn't risk your precious self.
You (or your heirs) would sue their pants off!
So you know that you don't need to hang on, right?

So... try it. Just once. See if I'm right or wrong.

Warning: YMMV.
