can anyone confirm if cms at City Hall in MK are exchanging Canadian dollars at par. Heard it over on the Canadian board and would like confirmation. We head down next week and this could help with dining.

Wishful thinking. Canadians have more chance of winning Powerball than getting a massive "new bucks for old" giveaway at guest services like that ...

Link please? I can't seem to find any threads about this on the Canadian board. I would find that idea nigh on ridiculous, given the current value on the US$

I'm moving this to the Canadian board so you are able to find your answer hopefully.

Thanks for posting the link. I did receive a response on another board from a CM stating it "sounds like a perk that could begin and end at any time." I'm not saying I believe the rumor, I was just looking for someone to confirm. I'm there tomorrow and will try it out for myself. If I get laughed out of City Hall, I can handle that. I will report back. I'm sure this is all just wishful thinking.

Hey, ya never know. :goodvibes

When a rumor sounds too good to be true...seriously though this sounds pretty crazy to me!

Owning up as the OP who posted this and clearly stated that it was an unconfirmed rumour, information give to us by a parent of a CM when we were in a shuttle on our way to Pearson on January 2nd. I said there is NO way they could be doing that and since we were bringing plenty of US cash with and NOT going to MK we didn't have the chance to check it out in person. Was only offering it up as a suggestion if someone was willing to try it out NOT so that someone would head down with only CDN cash in hand expecting such a wonderful windfall. Sorry for the confusion i caused, i shall now go back to my corner.

No confusion, we are all just waiting for conformation to this. I think we are all knowing that this is a loooooooooong shot, but Dreams do come True.
Its nice that you posted and now if someone is down soon they can let us know. I would never just take CAN, but if we needed to exchange and we are at MK well why not.
Come out of your corner and wait in line with the rest of us.

If this was really happening every American who goes to WDW would be going to the bank to buy Canadian $s to convert them at Par when they were in the park! Even after paying the exchange fee to buy the Canadian $s you'd still be making about $.25 per dollar!

I don't think City Hall typically exchanges that much Canadian cash for guests, so I could maybe see them quietly offering an at-par exchange for relatively small amounts when the rate wasn't so bad and possibly only for onsite guests.

That said, with the current exchange rate, Disney would be pouring out buckets of pixie dust in the form of at-par exchanges for Canadian dollars. Can't really see it happening, but on the off-chance that it is, I'm sure an increase in guests inquiring about it would stop the practice pretty quick.
