Hi hockey mom! I'm here! How are you doing? I sent Dave a pm a week or so ago and haven't heard from him. Things must be really busy at the store for him this time of year. I'm so jealous of their trip too! I wish that we were able to go this year, but that's not going to happen unless I win a lottery. I was thinking about you the other day. I found out that my cousin's son is working at the Blue Heron and that of course made me think of you. Take care and have a great Christmas! We'll have to get together soon for a DIS meet.

Baboo, I was just thinking of you also. I won a gingerbread house at Festival of trees. Which department is your friend in.? Did you go down for the meet ?

I've been popping into the boards, reading and putting my two cents in now and then. Yes, this is a busy time for us and...of all things...I just had an emergency appendectomy on November 30 (we got to it before it ruptured) but the recovery was very slow. I'm feeling pretty good now.
Sorry Baboo that I didn't respond to your pm (Today was the first time I've been to that area). I'm glad you liked our commercial. That's pretty funny about Laura being your cousin. "It's a Small World"
Well, hockey mom, our plans are going quite well. We are leaving Friday January 25 at 6 am (driving) and we're not booked to arrive at ASMu until Sunday. We are not going to make any concrete plans for the trip down. Just semi-winging it. We're staying at ASMu (I received the WDW postcard...$49 US per night!) until Saturday when we move over to a condo at Sheridan Vista Resort. We're staying there until the following Saturday, at which time we will head back north. We are buying the special Canadian 7-day hopper passes. Our plans are: 7 days at the parks, a day at the TL, a day at Universal, a day at the Gulf Coast, some time at the Atlantic Coast and a couple of "days of rest" (LOL). We have our breakfast at Cindy's booked, a dinner at Chef Mickey's and brunch at the Crystal Palace. We'll be booking Fultons in a week or so. So many other plans We are all getting pretty excited now. 39 days!
It would be great to get together for a meet in January before we go. If not, maybe when we get back.
We just bought a digital video camera and a new still picture camera (to replace the one we lost at WDW last time we were there ).
It's funny because this trip, even though it will be 17 days (compared to our last trip of 10 days) will cost us less than the last trip. I guess there is something to be said about experience.

Hi Dave nice to hear from you! I'm glad that you're feeling better again. Things like that can really knock the stuffing out of you (sorry about the pun ). Len went through a similar thing in June with his gallbladder. Your vacation sounds wonderful! I'd so love to get together again either before or after your trip. We can either talk about what you're going to do or what you did!
Hockey mom, which gingerbread did you win? All of the ones in the first gazebo were done by friends of mine (Kawarthat Cake Designers) and mine was the lighthouse. My cousin works tending bar occasionally, and hauling out the empties. His name is Matt Dawson, so if you see him tell him Kathy says 'hi'. I didn't get to go to the DISCON this year, but I sure hope to get there some time. The end of November, beginning of December, is just not a good time for those of us in retail (right Dave?)
So when will we have our DIS meet? Things will be quieter for me in January, so maybe we could get together then.

Baboo: it is a small world, I work with Matt on a daily basis. Ask him who tips him out best at the end of the night. If it isn't me I will have to up my ante. hAHa. I won the blue gingerbread house, I'm not sure who made it. I should of put 2 and 2 together when Matt said his mother was with Emily Creek.

Canadave everything sounds wonderful. Excellent rate at ASMu. Food plans sound great. We loved eating at the castle, so glad we tried it. I vote for a meet after your return so we can see the many pictures. I still need to show everyone all my AKL photos also. Feburary is always a drab month so this meet could pick it up some.

As much as I would like to meet in January, It's shaping up to be a busy month...doing year end at the store ...getting organized for the trip, both at the store and at home..and so on. Maybe when we get back and settled...February/March? Looking forward to seeing everyone again. (and seeing hockey mom's AKL pictures...we may try to have a meal there and check out the place)
