Just wondering - from a Canadian view - what has your experience been with DVC? We are going to be buying into AKV and wondered what others experiences have been....
:goodvibes

Our experience has been 100% positive so far from the simplicity of buying in and the wonderful holidays we get.
SSR members since 04'

Due to the airline prices we only go once a year for 10 -14 days.
It would be difficult to spend 2 weeks in a value or even moderate.
We enjoy lots of R&R at our resort and they are the best resorts for that!
To have a deck is important to us, that limits us to a deluxe or dvc.
The washer/dryer is great to have, toss a load in every night.

It seems like alot of money to tie up in vacations but we love Disney and love the dvc accomadations! The money was well spent for us.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Nothing but positive here too!

With the flight prices from Buffalo we like to get the AP with the DVC discount and go several times in one year then take a few off to do different vacations. We did 2 weeks in October '06, 5 days over the May long weekend this year and we are doing another week at the end of August after our non Disney cruise.

We won't be going back now until December of '09 and we will go several times that year again!

ditto all the above. We try to go twice a year for around 10 days, and DVC is just such a great way to go with the washer/dryer, the balcony, and the size of the accommodations. I so love NOT having to do the AP rates game anymore. I can plan ahead of time and then just wait out the airline prices. Two thumbs up here.

Good to hear the positive responses. We just passed ROFR on a 60 point SSR contract and it has all been a simple, positive experience so far. I will be using the 64 points that are available immediately to spend 4 nights in a studio at the BCV in April with my 3 DD's. We'll be taking advantage of the $100 AP discount if we're in the system by the time we arrive for our 8 night vacation in August and then use it in April and again for a trip in August 08. I have been amazed at how easy and pleasant the whole process has been (we are dealing with the Timeshare Store).:cheer2:

Our experience has been nothing short of superb every trip down exceeds expectations and you can't beat the feeling you get when you first hear that welcome home at the guard shack entering the resort.

DVC is amazing....we have no regrets....no complaints here whatsoever! A very positive experience!:thumbsup2

We bought this past March while at WDW. Already added more points. Our rep has been very helpful & pleasant. All has gone smoothly. We are staying at AKV in a 1bedroom Dec 30 to Jan 5 for our first stay.

Well my mother bought in in 2000 at BCV and has added points twice since then. We all love it!

We have a 100 point contract at OKW and really love the resort. Having the points lets us stay in larger accomodations and usually for longer trips. We are also using points this summer for a few nights stay in Colorado as part of a trip we are taking this summer.

Definitely no regrets and possibly adding on points in the future.

Best thing I have ever done - ever.
My parents bought into OKW before it was even built. We started going 15 years ago.
I finally joined the DVC 4 years ago. My regret? Waiting so long to have my own home.

LOVE IT!!

In the process of buying right now --excited --and the wait to pass FROR is crazy.
Hugs Mel

No regrets from us either. We agree with all that we should have done it sooner, looked into buying 10 years ago. Think of all those extra trips:goodvibes . Three trips for us in the past year so far and being able to bring family this September makes it even more magical

Also, in the process of buying right now. Just had my offer on a 175 point contract at SSR accepted. So, it will be awhile and I have to wait through ROFR.

I am v. excited at the prospect of owning DVC after hearing so many positive experiences on the Disboards. I think that we will go about 10 or 11 nights at a time, maybe only every other year.

Glad to hear everyone's positive experiences. It has definitely played a big part in our family of three deciding to take the DVC plunge as well.
