Can you wear a cover-up at DC and Aquatica?

I tend to get nervous about a swimsuit malfunction while going on water rides. Will they let me wear my cover-up while going on the rides? If it matters, it's just a white lacy top that comes to the upper thigh.

At Aquatica; you can wear it on all rides except for Ihu Breakaway Falls and Dolphin Plunge. Because there's no tube or raft between you and the slide; and they are considered "body slides" you can only have swimsuit material on or you will potentially get stuck in the slide; so the lifeguards won't allow you to wear it; but you should be able to wear it while you stand in line for the ride and then hold it while you slide down and put it back on at the bottom.

chiamarie has covered the Aquatica side nicely, so I'll just address DC ... you will be able to wear the cover-up under your vest, if you want (DH wore a t-shirt under his to keep from burning) but the vest must be on top. Or, just opt wear the wet suit which has lots coverage.

Thank you both! That's perfect! I feel better when I'm a little bit covered up. :).

I'm Scottish and my wife is Irish, which means that the color of our children's skin is translucent (think blue). We discovered "swim shirts" when we started bringing the kids out to pools or the beach. They provide outstanding protection from the sun and are also great if you are "modest" about being out & about in your swim suit, and you can find some really cute ones rather than just solid colors. It may be worth it as a backup plan in case your cover up doesn't work for you.

i wear swim trunks (ladies or mens) with a top from a ladies two piece set. I also wear a rash guard over that. I got the last one from Amazon.

Everything is made of true swimsuit material so it doesn't get heavy, clingy or stretch like a wet cotton coverup.

It keeps me covered and protected from the sun. I wear a hat and sunglasses when at attractions where my head doesn't get very wet. My head, shoulders (and eyeballs) don't get burned after 9 hours at a waterpark.

My wife has ordered some things from Athleta (http://www.athleta.com/) and one of them is a cover up. I couldn't remember the name of the company before and I noticed their catalog that came in the mail yesterday. Their regular prices can be steep on some things but I remember my wife found some great bargains on sale/clearance. What she picked up looks very good and seems to be very high quality. Who knew there are swim dresses...
