Can you walk to Epcot from Caribbean Beach?

I am flirting with switching our three night reservation in January at the Contemporary to a five night reservation at a mod in April to take advantage of the free dining pin we received.

Caribbean Beach is the closest to the parks, but I can't tell if you can walk to Epcot or the Hollywood Studios. Just thinking it would be nice to be able to walk and then catch the monorail to MK (I know we can do buses, but thinking the kids would like the monorail).

Anyone know?

Anyone have a preference of CBR, POR or POFQ if we have to do a mod?

No, although from looking at maps it looks very close, you cannot walk to either park from CBR.

And CBR is the only mod I have stayed at, but I love it and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Of course, everyone's tastes are different. CBR makes me feel like I'm on a vacation within a vacation!

No way can you walk to Epcot. It's a hike, and CBR is located off a busy roadway in the DTD area. No walkway or anything. DHS...maybe you could walk to (from a distance perspective) but I wouldn't advise it. The roadway is just too busy with traffic, and there's no sidewalk to speak of.

I've stayed at CBR and like it a lot. Years ago, I stayed in POR (I think) and it was awful! But I know they redid the rooms since then, so I'm sure it's a lot nicer now (I know people rave about those resorts on the boards).

I don't recommend walking. You are across from the back of Epcot but it is a long walk to an entrance. Drivers zooming along the road aren't looking for walkers so it could be dangerous. The bus ride is very short and I would suggest taking the bus.

You can't (easily) walk to a park from any moderate resort. There are no pedestrian walkways and walking along the highway is dangerous.

As the crow flies, CBR is very close to Epcot and DHS. BUT...you aren't a crow. There are no sidewalks, only busy highways. You are not allowed to walk along them. This is one reason deluxe resorts are deluxe resorts..you can walk to a park or two...legally.

That's essentially one of the main appeals of the deluxes -- they're in walking or monorail distance of the parks, whereas with the moderates and values, you're going to be taking buses.

Even if you are at a deluxe, you are going to be taking buses to some of the parks. Depends on which deluxe as to which parks you can walk to or take some other conveyance, and which parks you need to ride a bus. If you're at the Epcot area deluxes, you need a bus to MK and AK for sure (unless you care to walk all the way through Epcot to get to the monorail). At the MK deluxes, you need a bus to AK and Studios. At AKL you ride buses everywhere, even to AK - you cannot walk to AK from AKL.
