If not, how do you get there for a meal? We will be staying at CBR & might want to check it out - but not if we have to bus to DTD & then to AKL. So many of you have dined there, how do you get there? :D

You can not walk there. There is a direct bus from AK. After dinner I suppose it might be easiest to take the bus to Epcot or MGM if it's still open and then transfer to a CBR bus. We always drive however.

If you are coming form a park you can get on a bus going to AKL. If you are coming from your resort you will need to go to the TTC or closest park and transfer to an AKL bus. You could also hire a cab which might cost a few dollars but would be much more convienent. We always have a car so transportation is not a big problem for us.

There will be people there in "park" attire as well as others who have dressed up a bit. You'll be fine. It's like CG, Narcoossee's and Citrico in that there is a wide varietty of dress.

Just take the bus from the transportation area of the AK. There are frequent buses leaving the AK to the AKL. Its a short easy trip. Many others will be dressed in "park attire" so I would not worry about that at all.

When we haven't either been staying at AKL or didn't have a car we just took a cab back and forth.

As far as the dress goes, resort casual is appropriate. Theme park attire unless it's on the dressy side is not. I would not go there dressed in the same shorts and t-shirt I had been wearing in a park all day. Frankly by 6:00pm on a hot summer day people smell, and should take a few minutes to freshen up and change before dining in a fine establishment.

A little OT--I made a PS for Narcooses today and was told that they are now requesting no tank tops or cut offs.

I would just take the bus from CBR to AK. Get off the bus and walk to the AKL bus loading area. Then return the same way..

If AK closes at 5:00 there wouldn't be too many buses running after dinner would there?

After dinner you won't be looking for an AK bus...you'll be taking a bus to the TTC or DTD. Those buses run late.

But I would grab a cab back - much easier.

I always wear "resort casual" inside the parks. Going on 40, short shorts and tank tops just don't do it for me - and I've never looked good in a tshirt collar. I guess it depends on what is meant by park attire. My mother looks fabulous all the time - I don't know if she owns anything that isn't at least "resort casual" - and would only need to change for V&As (she is also one of those women who don't sweat - at least not without intending to). My sister in law on the other hand doesn't own anything that is "resort casual" - she is strictly a tshirt with writing across the front of it kind of girl - collared shirts are for yuppies. It also depends on when you travel. Even dressed well, a shower before dinner when its 98 degrees in July might be a good idea if you are upscaling from Cosmic Rays, but if you are traveling in November, it probably won't be an issue.

last yr we had a wodnerful experneince with a WDW bus driver. We rode the AKL bus from AK. We expected to take a DD bus (and switch to an CR bus), or hoped that maybe a TTC bus would come by. If not we'd call a cab. Anyway the MK had just closed and the bus came to drop off a load of people. We asked if he was headed back to MK and he said, yes but it's close. We explained we would just hop on the monrail since we were headed to CR. He called dispatch and got permission to drop us off at the hotel.
