If I book a resort for 4 days, but I purchase a park hopper for 8 days, can I start using my tickets before the check in date? Make fastpasses before the check in date?

You can activate tickets associated with a package up to 10 days before the package starts. To do this you'll have to stop by a Guest Services location. They are located outside each park and at Disney Springs.

No, not until the day of. If you book a room only and then add tickets separately, you'll be able to make FP reservations 30 days out.

Ok so that won't work since I won't be in FL other than for the trip.

What if I book a package stay for the first 4 days including a park hopper for 8 days, and then a room only for the following 5 days? Will I be able to make fast passes for the second 5 day part of the trip being the room only stay?
