Can you use two of your FastPass's for the same ride?

DS LOVES Toy Story Mania and we would like to ride it twice. Once in the morning and once in the evening. Is it possible to book two FastPass's for the same ride in one day?

Not with your first 3 FPs anyway. And I think there's less than a 1% chance of getting TSM as a 4th at a kiosk.

But if you want to attempt it, you could arrive early at the gates to be at the front of the RD crowd and ride it standby, then book your FP for the evening. Of course that means you would limit yourself to just 3 FPs that day.

You can't book the same FP as part of your first three, but after you use your first 3, you can then book whatever is available as a fourth (or subsequent). However, the odds are extremely low that TSMM would be available after you use three FP+s, even if you used them first thing in the morning.

I love Toy Story too so what we do is drag ourselves up early to be at the front of the rope drop crowd to ride first thing without a FP. Then we ride with FP later again. But you really have to get there if you want to do that. We got on Toy Story with a few minutes wait and it was 50 min wait when we walked out. I mean no harm if you don't make it early enough. You just either may not get to ride twice or you wait in line. I don't like really long lines so it is worth it to me to get up early.

thanks everyone for the great advice. Unfortunately rope drop is not an option for us as we are not staying on property. So I'm gonna take whatever I can get for TSM at the 30 day window. I hope beyond hope that it will be later in the day because if that's one of the first rides he goes on we might be in for a very sad little boy the rest of the day. I don't want you to think he's spoiled, he just has High-Functioning autism and he just doesn't understand why we can't just get right back on the ride. On our first trip there last year, he was such a distraught mess when we got off, we were trying to console him and even tried a little bribing to get him away from the ride but to no avail. There was very very nice CM there that felt so bad for him because he really was very upset, that she let us right back on....I love Disney, they didn't have to do that for him. That lone kindness is why we became Annual Passholders.

We've had really good luck riding Toy Story up to 4 times during the last hour of operation. This works best when Fantasmic is scheduled an hour before the park closes.

The key is to understand that the posted wait times are greatly exaggerated at night and don't be scared off by the posted numbers. It's not unusual to see a posted 75 minute wait but have an actual wait of 15.

This strategy is probably a more efficient use of your time than arriving early in the morning just to ride once.

Just curious, what does staying off site have to with rope drop? As long as it is not an EMH morning you should be fine for rope drop.

For some reason I thought rope drop was for people staying on property.

This is good to know, I'll put this in my plans.

Late night tip:
What they do at TSMM is close off all of the inside line area including the area by the Potato Head. The short line then spills out into the courtyard and they put up a 70 minute wait time. Most guest see this, shake their heads and leave.

If you're brave enough to get in line (or know this secret) you'll find that the line goes straight to the area where you pick up the glasses then up the stairs. 15 minute wait on average.

Pure curiosity on my part - but why do they post false wait times? Is the hope that the line stays short (ie the people scared off) and thus they can finish the line by closing, or what? Seems a hinky practice, which is why I ask.

1. Yes.
2. It has been this way for decades.

This is the best kept "secret" ever and is what allows us to get more done late at night than what could be accomplished in the morning.

My opinion is that they want to steer guests away from the attractions and into the gift shops before they leave. Most people view "closing time" as a strict shut down of everything and they feel that they have to be out of the park by that time. However, the shops do stay open at least an hour after the parks close and is the perfect time for browsing.

From personal observation, you can expect the posted wait time to be about 4x the actual wait over the last hour or two of operation.

Huh. I was last in the parks at night in 2007, and that was Epcot so I hadn't noticed. Good tip to know though!

That's pretty crappy behavior. Not very Disney-service like in my opinion :-)

Epcot is a little different because it closes so early during peak season and Illimuninations is always right at closing time so everyone leaves together.

The wait time game has been going on for years at the other 3 parks though. You can get in lots of rerides with little to no wait if you know how to play.

if your son has problems at the park disney dose a great job of helping people with all kinds of disabilities I would go to GR at the front of the park and talk to them about your sons needs and see what they can do for you
