Can you use two magic bands at one time?

our son is going on an eighth grade trip with his class. Including chaperones, there is a total of 50. My husband and I chose not to chaperone and will be staying at SSR. Since it's just the two of us, we added his name to our reservation just in case he may want to spend a night, acces to TOWL for a day, and the ability to charge to our room in case he needs anything. Does anyone have experience with the same scenario? They're staying at the Art of Animation so he'll also get a magic band from that group. Can he wear two wristbands at one time? His park tickets would be on his AoA Magic band. Would he have to just keep one in his pocket just in case or can he freely wear both of them?

Nothing is on the bands but a password number that is used by Disney and your MDE account. I don't know if he can be listed in 2 rooms at the same time and/or can he be on 2 MDE accounts?

You will have problems if his MDE profile is linked to both rooms. If he has a separate profile for the two trips, then he should be fine.

Well, I doubt the class chaperones will be setting up MDE accounts for all of the students. It's much more likely that the kids will be waiting in the stand by lines or using the in-park kiosks to set up FP+ for the day. If they do set up MDE accounts, they will probably need to do one for each room - so maybe 4 students per room? Can't see how Disney would know if one or more of the students is also listed on another room with his parents. AFAIK, you don't have to have an MDE account to stay in a Disney resort and have a MB to open the door.

Just have your son keep the MB attached to your room in his pocket to use when he needs to charge something or wants to go to the TOTWL with you. (And to keep your cell phone number handy).

I don't think the class chaperons will be setting up MDE accounts either as I've been to all the parent meetings and unless the teacher is the one setting up the MDE accounts, the has been no mention of the chaperons doing it. Some rooms will have 3 students, some 4. I'm nit linking his tickets that we have to his MB from our reservation. I'm more worried he'll misplace his magic band from our reservation so wearing it would be a better solution. (This child loses thins easily).

No one will have a problem with him wearing 2 bands at once- i sometimes wear 2 and no one has ever stopped me or said anything about it. He can put the band with the ticket on the hand that makes it easier for entrances and FP and then wear the one for charging on the other wrist. I wear my husband's and my own sometimes when I am going in alone as I can set up FP for both of us since we have APs and I use both our FPs just changing which arm i am using.

Unless his pocket zips closed, I would be worried that the Magic Band would fall out.

We just returned from a class trip and we set up magic bands for each of our kids, linked them all and set up fast pass plus. We also had parents staying in another resort, we were responsible for the kids and would not let them go anywhere but with us. They had parents meet them for a ride or two, but the school is responsible for them and they needed to stay with the group. The magic band to open the door to his room with the group will be linked to his name. He will not be able to be registered in two rooms simultaneously, unless something has changed recently.

He can wear two easily. Our family each wore two the last time we went. If they aren't doing advanced FP with the group, he could book 3 on each band at the kiosks

We are doing this also. Our DD16 is attending WDW with the school marching band. We are all heading down a couple nights early where we will all be staying at the new Poly studios, then she meets up with the school group staying off-site, and then back with us for 1 night. So, she will have her MB (with her AP) (we are selling her ticket to another family attending). She did want to know if she would be able to charge on her MB while with the band. I told her that was find, but no charging 100 churros for the entire band
