can you use the same sponge?

I can't use a sponge or dish rag to wash dishes. Everything goes in the dishwasher. Everything. I would almost rather stick my hand in boiling water than in dish water. I use disposable Clorox wipes to wipe the counter tops. Yes, I realize I have a problem.

The first time I ever heard of this being an issue was when I moved in with my boyfriend (then husband, then ex-husband! LOL) when I was 23 or so. He was 10 years older than me and had been on his own for a lot longer. I went to go clean the kitchen and used the same sponge for the dishes and the counter tops. We were still in our "honeymoon" period so he was very nice about it, but did make it a point to let me know that was not acceptable! LOL I guess it stuck... to this day I use a sponge (one of the ones with a handle attached that has the soap in it) for dishes and Clorox wipes for the counter tops. I do have to be careful about sponges, though. We have a bearded dragon and I do keep the cleaning supplies for his cage/bowls/etc under the sink... while I am not an overly clean person, if someone mixed up those sponges that WOULD severely gross me out!
