Can you use the $200.gift card for this?

We wanted to use the card for CS meals in the parks. Will they accept the card for this? Also, if we use it at say Ohanas' for dinner, will they pre-approve a larger amount figuring for tips or will they do the bill plus 18% if we have DDE/TIW card? I know with some charge cards they approve an amount larger than the bill to cover if you add a tip to the bill. I don't want any of my balance tied up in a false amount approval.

from what I read, yes, it can be used towards food.

Most restaurant's machines are automatically programmed to approve up to 20% more on the bill when your card is swiped for approval, doesn't matter what card it is. I think they can override this though, depends on the restaurant.

For that reason, most gift cards (not Disney's, just generic resturant gift cards or VISA or MC or AmEx gift cards) say in the fine print may not be accepted at gas station pumps (self serve) and/or restaurants where the approval amount can be more than your card balance.

Might be easier just to charge the meal to your room, and apply the $200 gift card to your room balance. I've heard you can't do this with the Birthday gift card, but I haven't seen any restriction on the $200 gift card. With Disney, rules can sometimes change every day.

I've had no problem paying for CS with a gift card but I don't know if that one has special terms or conditions. I have not tried to do a dinner reservation or anything with a tip added.

We did Donald's Breakfast Safari and used the card including the tip. It's deducted straight from the card, no pending charge. The final receipt has the amount left on the card. Use it as you want, for almost anything in the World.
