I'm going to be getting into Orlando late on a Friday night. My plan was to get a room at the hotel in the airport that night and then the next day proceed to my Disney hotel. So I would be getting my own luggage Friday night.

My question is would I then be able to get the Magical Express the next morning with all my luggage?

I am sure they would try to persuade you to stay on Disney property. I am very curious to hear the answer to this one!

Absolutely. You can only use DME while your WDW resort reservation is in force..it matters not when you arrive, or depart...as long as your resort reservation is in force.
No one is going to persuade anyone to stay anywhere. They don't care.
So, take your bags with you, over to the DME area. You will check in, your bags stowed beneath your bus. Then, when you get to your WDW resort, your bags will be handed to you.
No problem doing this at all. You can arrive at MCO via plane, car, truck, or yak...makes no difference. You can take DME to your resort at any time, as long as the reservation is active. No, your bags won't be delivered for you, but that's no big deal.

We've done this a couple of times when we've arrived late at MCO.

When you sign up for DME, just find a flight (any flight) that arrives in the morning, around the time you want to head to WDW.

Then, you'll arrive at MCO late night, go to your airport hotel, and get a good night's sleep. Next morning, shuttle back to MCO, and head to DME to head to WDW.

Very easy, and totally allowed. Especially since anyone arriving to MCO after 10pm and taking DME HAS to get their own luggage. Just make sure to tip the driver for helping with your bags.

No need to put fake flight info on your DME reservation. Just show up at DME and you're on your way. The last time we did this, we were just 6 or so people on a giant DME bus to POFQ, and made it to rope drop at MK.

Actually you are right that you don't need flight info but you do need advance reservations for DME. I don't doubt you may have been transported without a reservation but it is not the norm.

OP can call and make the DME reservations with or without a dummy flight, some CM's have trouble using the system without a flight, others have no issues.

The only requrements for using DME are that you are a resort guest on the day(s) you want to travel and that you have an advance reservation.
Something to do with the airport livery rules prohibit DME from soliciting or taking riders without advance reservations.

I don't think anyone suggested trying to ride the bus without a prior reservation. When the poster said they just walked up, I'm pretty sure they meant they didn't give any 'fake' flight info...just had their vouchers in hand and got checked in.
As long as you have a standing reservation with DME, you're good to go. And there are many who haven't given any flight info....it really doesn't matter. If you want to not worry about it, then fine...get info for a flight arriving in the early morning and give DME that info. But it really isn't a big deal.
