Can you use fastpasses without "entering" park

We are going with my cousin's family, she has 3 people (we have 5) We are going to the park for 1 more day than them, but all of us are still getting tickets for 6 day. Our first day in the park, the other family is not going... can I still get fastpasses for them and use them, or would they not work because they will not have technically entered the park yet. The tickets are paid for for the day, but the wristbands won't be going through the entrance gates... anyone know?

It will work! You can book the FP and just use their magicbands, even if they do not enter the park.
