can you use DDP & DDE

When we ate at 'Ohana, we used our DDP. I had to pay for my drinks, & my mothers meal. I asked the waiter if I could use my DVC discount on the ticket I was paying, & he said no you can only use one discount. I was thinking about getting the DDE card, but if I can not use both then I probably will not get it.

Yes, or at least we were able to use the DDE with our "extras" while on the DDP, a few weeks ago.

It was amazing to see how much we saved, even without buying much food being on the DDP. We just about earned back the cost of the card, minus a few cents, on this first trip. Now we will have at least 3, possibly 4 more without the DDP so Im expecting huge savings.

Yes. And we have had no problem using DDE for drinks while using the DDP. I think your waiter made a mistake.

Sounds like your waiter didn't want to be bothered splitting the check. We just got back from a trip where 2 of us were on DDP and the others were using DDE. At all the resaurants we ate at they adjusted the checks for the DDE after separating our DDP servings fron the original bill. We even had an extra party with us at one meal where they split our bill 3 ways and gave both of the other parties the DDE discount.
