Can you use a pin for split stays?

We have apparently received a pin for a "huge discount" on the hotels, as the cast member stated on the phone. I am assuming this is a 40% off pin because the quotes they are giving me on a deluxe is pretty close to what I am getting through the specials link on the site right now.

We have the chance to stay in the tower at the contemporary, however, I am not sure I really want to spend 3500 on a vacation right now. I feel like that is a good (including food) but that still seems like a lot.

My brother, who is also a HUGE Disney fan, asked me if we could split stay in a moderate for three days and then upgrade to the CR half way through our stay.

I am not sure if that is possible. Do you know if you can do that with these codes?

It is really hard to decide if we should spend the money on the hotel with basic dining, or spend it on a moderate and get the deluxe dining. I need to put my deposit down in the next few days so I think I need to make a decision already.

I doubt it. Disney views split stays as two separate reservations. When I booked our last split stay, I even had a hard time convincing the lady helping me that I didn't want to cancel my Polynesian reservation, that I wanted to keep it and add Caribbean Beach before it. You'll have to book one with your pin and one with another discount if you choose to do so.

Now, I love split stays - it makes it feel like two different vacations, however there are a few drawbacks. To get the dining plan, you will have to purchase at least a one day MYW ticket for everybody in the party at each hotel. Obviously this is going to waste a lot of money since the cost of adding a day to a ticket gets cheaper the more days you stay and this forces you to buy two separate tickets, get an AP (so you can book a package without tickets), or sacrifice the dining plan at your second hotel by making it a room only and using the first hotel's tickets. Even if you decide to buy the tickets to get the meal plan both times, you have the added issue of your credits from your first hotel expiring the day you're switching hotels. This means you'll have to plan your meals (particularly two credit ones) carefully so that you aren't spending credits you won't have access to yet or that will have already expired. You also have to worry about using all of those snack credits up on that day you switch. It's definitely doable, but it's an added expense and something to worry about.

If the code you have is for a certain number of days, for example get 40% off for a stay of 5 days, then you can not split that. It needs to be one reservation at one resort. So you would need to stay the minimum number of nights at one resort and then if your vacation is longer than that, you could then move to another resort, but not use the discount, unless you were staying at the second resort for the necessary number of days.

We received a pin earlier in the year for 20/30/40% off thru the end of this year. There was no minimum for stay, so we reserved Pop Century for three nights in mid August and received 20% off and Beach Club for three nights and received 40% off. We had to make two separate set of reservations, but the pin did apply since it didn't have a minimum stay associated with it. I guess it depends on the pin you received and the stipulations. Hope it works out! :)
