So I just found two KTTW cards and both have 3 days left on them. Is it possible to upgrade these??? And since they're from 2006 before the non expiring option came out, would they still be non expiring after I upgrade (if I can)? This was originally a 6 day pass so I'm not sure if I can even upgrade at this point....

Even though you can use the tickets, you can't upgrade them more than 14 days after the first use, so no.

Sorry to tell you, but if the tickets are from 2006, they have expired. 2005 was when the new Magic Your Way tickets debuted. DH, DD, and I went that year, and we purchased 10 day non-expiring tickets (used them on another trip in 2007). We specifically changed the tickets to Park Hopper, Waterparks, and non-expiring when we heard of the changes to the ticket system.

Any tickets purchased in 2005 and beyond expire after 14 days UNLESS the non-expiring option was added (within the first 14 days of use). Also, any upgrades have to be made within the same time frame. So, even if they were non-expiring tickets, after the first 14 days of use, they cannot be upgraded.

No, we called to check to see how many days were left on each ticket and they said 3 days. I only thought it was 1 day, but definitely 3 days.

Sorry- were they originally no-expire? If so, then the extra days left on them are good until you use them. I thought you were saying you did NOT originally have no-expire on them. You won't be able to add days to them, but you can use the days still on them.

There was a time when all tickets were park hopper and non-expirational. If that was the case with these, they will be honored as sold. They will still be park hoppers and non-expirational.

2006 (post-2004) standard issue tickets do not automatically come with non-expiration.

Pre-2005 tickets do.

If there are 3 days left and you need more than 4, you may be better off buying all new tickets and not using the old ones at all. The first few days of a new ticket cost around $80. each while the last 6 days of a 10 day ticket cost $5. apiece. The 3 day ticket saves you more off the cost of new tickets on a short vacation.

Well, not ALL tickets were hoppers in the past (most were), but it is true that prior to January 2nd, 2005, they were all non-expire.

If the OP didn't specifically pay for non-expire (and if you called and were told how many days left you were lucky - they generally don't do that any more, they will only tell you if they are valid), I suppose one other possibility is if they were able to book a package with a certain pre-MYW ticket, and the package ticket was honored. But it would have had to have booked more than a year in advance - I don't book packages, but there is usually a limit to how far in advance you can book them...

Packages booked in 2004 to be taken in 2005 allowed the choice of old style (Park Hopper Plus and Length of Stay) or new style (Magic Your Way) tickets.
