Can you trust Touringplans with TSL?

I was thinking about going to TSL on my upcoming trip in a few weeks and went to TP to see what it said about crowds. It said that during the early morning from about 7:00-10:00 that wait times would be below 30 minutes for SDD and AS2. After then it picked up quite a bit to a peak of 86 minutes at 12:45 for SDD and 82 for AS2. Can you trust TP with something so new? I know that it hasn't been as busy the last couple of days as everyone expected it to be. Do these times seem reasonable or is there know way of knowing?

I wouldn't trust their times on a new land or ride until about a week or two after it's been open. I also wouldn't count on sub 30 min waits after about 5 min after the park as been open.

You may want to follow the TSL thread by @rteetz. Posters are posting wait times reported by MDX and TP.

As of 1PM EST

Slinky Dog Dash 110 minutes
Toy Story Mania 75 minutes
Alien Swirling Saucers 50 minutes

From Touring Plans
Aliens expected at 28 minutes
Slinky 79 minutes
Toy Story Mania 42 minutes

those wait times don't seem realistic to me considering the newness of the land.

Yeah, I get that but 30 minute waits for brand new rides isn't realistic. There are plenty of rides that have been there for ages and have well over 30 minute waits by that time of day this time of year.

I was skeptical that they would be that low after less than a month of the land being open even though it is during emh. I just didn't know if crowds were expected continue to go down as the month went on or if they'll stay the same

The posted wait times for TSL have been extremely inaccurate. I think Disney is still trying to gauge wait times. Denise from Mousesteps posted that the wait time sign read 210 minutes but she was on the ride in 55 minutes. Last night a friend said the posted wait time was 145 minutes and she was on within 25 minutes.

That's weird that the lines are so short! I hope in the next couple of weeks the posted wait times become more accurate. If they continue to be pretty short, we might just decide to go last minute

They just dont have enough data yet and set their benchmarks too low. Once touringplans has enough data, their info is usually very reliable.

I wouldn't trust their times for at least a month or two. They need to get data and there currently isn't much. So at best, it would seem to be a guess for now. Once more information is known, they seem to be reliable.

I've been tracking the wait times from the MDE app since it opened. The 1st hour or so I have seen times about 30-45 minutes. But that's just for the 1st hour. After that it shoots up - like today - 11a et it was 125 minutes. I've steadily been seeing 200+ minutes. Yep, we'll try for a FP for our trip for sure as we are not rope drop people.

I'm a paid member of Touring Plans and I don't trust their data. I think it's a little bit of historic data, educated guessing and a little bit of luck. 2016 we we're there the first week of December and one day they predicted a crowd level of 2 and it was slammed. Another was supposed to be a 6 or 7 and we waited little to no time on anything. Last year the whole trip ended up being a 0-1 with zero crowds due to Irma paying a visit. I go to WDW expecting the absolute worse and plan accordingly. Anything less is a bonus.

Yeah, it didn't seem like the TP times were accurate yet. I guess I also didn't know if they'd be more accurate than MDE because from what I've seen, MDE has been posting wait times that are a lot longer than actual wait times. I don't think we'll carve out extra time for it either way with the way things are working out.

Users are able to time the waits themselves and send them in through the app. They use that data as well.

That said the Toy Story waits haven't been as high as expected.

That part I do agree is pretty accurate. I even time the wait times and submit them when i'm there. I was referring to the crowd predictions. I should have been more clear.

I wonder if they're inflating them to mask that TSL is not attracting the crowds to the same level that Pandora did.

Honestly it surprises me. Lots of people love TS. Before Pandora lots of people were saying they didn't like the movie so they didn't care about going to the land. I know TSL is kiddie rides but I didn't expect the crowds to drop off this quickly. I figured the land would be jammed for at least a couple weeks.
