We are traveling this summer (2 adults) and will be on DDP. One night DSiL/DBiL will drive to Orlando to spend the day and have dinner with us (2 more adults). If we have extra TS credits, can we use 4 credits and "treat" them to dinner that night?

Thanks in advance,

yes, you can also treat a stranger to any of your left over credits

No, you can't, according to the printed/official rules of the Dining Plan. Dining credits may not be shared with Guests not on the Dining Plan.

Let us rephrase the answer..yes you are able, whether you are technically allowed may be a different story. Unlike the disboards the police will not pounce on you at Disney if you choose to share.
The morality of the answer is left up to you now.

We arrived late the first day and had extra table service credits so we tried to treat my neice and nephew at two restaurants using an adult credit and a kids credit. Both Coral Reef and Ohanas gave us a hard time using 4 adult and 2 childs credits when the dining plan was only for 3 adult and 1 child.

I had to speak to the supervisor at Coral Reef and she "found a way" to do it, but it was after some effort!;) That was stress I didn't need.

Ah, okay. I wasn't aware providing the correct/official answer equated 'pouncing' on a poster.

Servers can face disciplinary action for allowing you to do so, although some may bend to your request. Just something to think about.

I have personally never had any extra ts or cs to share, but have had snacks and our first trip I gave some away..stood there and gave my card while the girl rang them up.
I didn't realize a server could get in trouble...seems silly. Disney isn't going to loose much money in cases like this and it is good will
I must apologize then for giving bad advice
Maybe ask and not push things if the answer is "no"

Not looking to push any envelopes or add stress to my trip - just some super-early advance thinking. If it's against the basic rules we'll just use the credits up ourselves.

Thanks again -:)

beacher, this is an aspect that used to be open but Disney has expressly changed the language now to forbid it. I think alot of people will be suprised who had gotten used to te rules past years and its better to be forwarned IMO. kaytieeldr is right on the money with there advice!

Disney does clearly and explicitly indicate there is no sharing of credits with people not on the plan. It is in the FAQ section and in the brochure for DDP.

Since this is always a very hot topic and we do not advocate breaking Disney policy, this thread is closed
