Can you transfer a reservation to a DVC membe?

Hi All,

This is not an appropriate message for the rent/trade board because I need advice. Here's my problem. My brother wants to go to Disney when I am going. He wants to stay at BLT but I do not own there, and he would rather book before the 7 month window.

I know I can try to find someone who will transfer the points to me, but I don't want to do that unless I know there is availability. Is it possible to have a BLT owner make the reservation, and then transfer the reservation to my account?

No, reservations can not be transferred from one membership to another membership.

No, they can sell you the reservation, put your name on it, but it will still belong to them. They will have to add anything your brother needs.

BUT, you could get a transfer of BLT points to your contract and use them to book BLT at 11 months out.

OR let your brother find a member himself and do all the legwork.

Reservations cannot be transferred from one DVC member to another. You can rent points from another member who will then make a reservation in your name. This required trust between the two parties.

Thanks. Since I own DVC and I've rented before, and he has no clue
he asked me to help him out with this.

Transfer BLT points before the 11 month window, and you'll know there's availability. If it's already past, have the BLT member check availability (and MS can tell them if it's just one or two or a lot) just before the transfer.
