Can you tell me your fun things to do at downtown Disney Springs?

I haven't been to Disney Springs since it was called Down Town Disney area.

And since this is my first birthday/retirement vacation, I wanted to splurge some, and to try things that I haven't tried before.

I was thinking of making a lunch dining reservation at the new for me, Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', and Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant. Then watch a movie during the hot part of the day at AMC Disney Springs 24 Theatres, and then tour Disney Springs later in the afternoon and night.

At Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', I really want to try the Church Lady Deviled Eggs, but that might be too many for me. I may have to take the leftovers back to the resort. I might want to try the Bunch of Puppies-House-made hushpuppies served with pimento cheese and red jalapeño jelly. I might want to try the Art's Famous Fried Chicken or the Fried Chicken & Doughnuts. But I am really interested in learning your experience and what you liked best.

At Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant, I would like to try the Sod the Stew or the Keen Eye for the Shepherd's Pie and the Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding. But I am really interested in learning your experience and what you liked best.

I always manage to visit Earl Of Sandwich and Ghirardelli® Ice Cream during my trip.

I am pretty sure on a nice day I want to finally try the Aerophile Balloon Flight and visit Splitsville Luxury Lanes. Of course, I always just like to take the water transportation just to travel on the lake/rivers.

I also want to take my time and stop to see the bands and entertainment while walking around.

Okay...who is going to start?

We went to Disney Springs only twice during our last visit which was a couple of weeks ago. It was our first time there since it was all redone. The reason we went only twice was something to do on arrival day and later that week a reservation at Homecomin'. We really didn't like/enjoy Disney Springs. It really didn't feel "Disney" to us, coming across as an upscale shopping mall in Southern California. It's EXTREMELEY crowded and parking, even with the huge parking decks, is a nightmare. We did enjoy Homecomin'. Ordered the famous fried chicken which was good. Had the hush puppies too but thought they were a little dry. Congratulations on your retirement.

Not sure if you are a Star Wars fan, but there is a virtual reality experience at a place called VOID for around $30.

At Homecomin' we love the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits. D-Luxe Burger is another good option. Polite Pig was good although not the best BBQ we've had. Since it's a birthday trip, if you're signed up for rewards at places like Starbucks and Sprinkles, make sure you take advantage of your free birthday treat (the Starbucks in the parks don't honor it since they're not "official" Starbucks locations). We've heard great things about the VOID but haven't tried it yet ourselves. I always like to stop by the Savannah Bee Company to sample their honey and buy some to bring home.

We love Disney Springs. While we do have upscale outdoor malls like that accessible to us, on vacation we have much more time to actually spend time just relaxing, listening to live music, browsing, and eating. I think we've also been fortunate to go during off-peak times since it hasn't been that crowded when we've gone and parking wasn't an issue. Enjoy!

Sounds like we might have a lot in common with our trips in June. I have one night at the BCVs and 3 nights at the AKVs. Was supposed to be there for my birthday in early June, but when I was able to lock in 2.5 nights in a CL studio, I had to push my dates back by a week. We plan to just enjoy the resorts, Disney Springs and one day at TL.

I'd make a vote for this too. Pretty amazing technology- never really tried virtual reality before. Over Christmas I took my 4' something daughter and 6' 4" son and it was something "seeing" them disguised as storm troopers to battle the dark side!

Our favorite thing to do used to be the dance party! They used to have it in the amphitheater and it was so great! They recently changed it to more of a “street” dance party and its crummy now IMO.
